I just saw on Facebook a story from a local Utah news station (not KSL)that a singles ward at BYU asked their members to write 5 star reviews for the BOM on Amazon, to counteract negative reviews. I can't leave a link here since I'm using my phone but if you are interested Im sure it can be found using Google. Needless to say, it didn't go well.

Love the complaints, but the satirical one comparing it to a role-playing game is the best. Go to that other place to find it easily.

Wow, it's just getting sad now.

Did you see how many morons claimed that the book changed their lives? It's mostly about imaginary civilizations and wars. It's turgid and repetitive. I wonder how lousy their lives were if reading it brought welcome change.

The game is to give it five stars (then your review will be in the "positive" column, then proceed to write your review as such-

"This book is simply wonderful. It explains how dark skinned people can become white if they stop sinning, and it's full of things that never existed in ancient America, such as horses barley and wheat. How amazing is that! And if you have trouble sleeping at night, just crack open this book and you'll be sawing wood in no time!"

Sounds pretty desperate, why would a non-mo be looking at buying a BoM on Amazon when one could get one for free from the missionaries?

I'd love to meet the nut who bought one. Wouldn't want to spend any time with them, but a meet n greet would be funny.

The GAME review was hilarious. It was funny because it's also true.

I don't get the claims about the BOM changing anyone's life. It's never done anything for me at all. I can see saying the church changed your life (for better or worse), but not the book.

Maybe it's the constant desperate declarations of its truth that get to me. Is that all there is to this religion? Trying to convince yourself and others that it's true? Ugh.

And the ants line up, the roaches scurry and the slaves appear busy, again.
