The church just released the news (they had to because he was a member of the presidency of the 12) but they are quick to let the world know that the cause "it is not apostasy". Seach: James J. Hamula

They put not apostacy because he was over the historian dept and correlation and they don't want people to suspect he left because he could no longer lie.

Hopefully James will talk. A lot!

And will YOU also be disappointed if it is revealed that James Hamula committed adultery and didn't apostatize?

Since committing adultery is tossing away temple covenants, it *is* apostasizing.

I'm disappointed that the church exists, and excommunicates people.

I'm never disappointed when somebody leaves the church, even if they were kicked out.

To Former 70 James if you ever come here:

Welcome!
We'd be glad to have you around here.
And while curious, of course, most of us won't care WHY you were ex'd.

Uh, did I say I hope YOU talk? No I did not.

Jeez, I don't need a damn label from a false church for excommunication. I don't rejoice in betrayals of any kind. Take that, Eddie Francis.

This from the Deseret News..."The church confirmed that this action was not taken because of disillusionment or apostasy." So, thankfully, it was just a moral issue; and he didn't loose his testimony. I hope his wife and family find comfort in the publicity this will bring the family. Maybe THEY will find disillusionment with the church. The Boner.

James Hamula was in my law school class (class of 1984). Despite the news release, it would not surprise me one bit if he was ex'ed for disbelief. The first seeds of my disbelief were sown while I was a law student. There were a number of my fellow students who were starting to question things, including a friend who later became an area authority.

I hope Jim Hamula speaks up about what happened.

If James Hamula speaks, will you be disappointed if he was excommunicated for adultery and not for apostasy, which most people on this board believe is what happened?

I was in Jim's law school class, too, like Merryprankster123 (wonder who you are). Jim was always very nice, low key, an upstanding person, a friend. I have no love for the institution of the TSCC and its bizarre practices, but I have to say I am sorry that Jim and his family are going through this. It's gotta be hard for them...

This is a very good question. As far as apostasy vs. something else, I would never ever trust the church's answer for anything.

I wonder if he received a payout from LDS Inc. contingent on signing a NDA so he wouldn't reveal any damaging information against the morg - he's got to have a lot of damning information after serving as the Assistant Executive Director of the Church History Department. I hope he talks.

I wonder if he had to sit through a "court of love" or if he was just axed.

"In cases involving members of Mormonism’s presiding quorums — rare as they are — the faith’s governing First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles form a disciplinary council to consider such actions."

Just thought of something.

Is it safe to assume that a Q70 has received their 2nd Annointing?

If so, church leaders usually overlook transgressions that regular members would require disciplinary councils. He must have done something very damaging to the IMAGE of the church.

Maybe this is the guy that has been regularly leaking church memos and other documents.

Wow -- good point. I'm sure that a 70 of long-standing would have had the 2nd anointing -- meaning there is only ONE unpardonable sin for him -- denying the Holy Ghost.

Here's a quote from one of the readers that probably reflects the thinking of many brain-washed TBMs--

"At least we, unlike other churches, hold our leaders accountable and don't allow them to drag the Church's name down with them."

Yes, Mormons are definitely more righteous than others!

"At least we, unlike other churches, hold our leaders accountable and don't allow them to drag the Church's name down with them."

Translation: In order to not let them drag the church's name down with them, we hide what they have done for as long as we can, and then only when there is absolutely no other option, we kick them out and then brag publicly about how wonderful our church is for having such great leaders, and how bad other churches are for not having the same.

I predict that Hamula will be rebaptized into the Church in about
a year.

Of course he'll never be a GA again, and everyone will whisper
when he walks by, "that's the guy who was a GA and got
excommunicated for SIN."

I think he will be thrown under the bus. Eventually he will be accused of something bad (like what they did to Lee).

He's already been accused of something bad. If you eliminate apostasy and disillusionment, about all that is left is improper placement of precious bodily fluids.

Although I suppose embezzlement is a possibility.

Did Jesus ever excommunicate anyone? Isn't TSM grander than Jesus. Shouldn't he be above this? Judas wasn't even excommunicated. Kult, cult, quilt, quolt, theives, liars, usery, guilt, darkness, evil, haters of truth, douch bags, self-fondlers, pedofiles, women abusers, scum, cheaters, government insiders, selfish, greedy, family destroyers, senile, useless eaters, con men. If I left anything out feel free to embellish.

I've heard PEDOPHILIA is popular among the ranks. Such an egregious misdeed to get exed over will surely hit the newsstand soon. I will bet my last tithing payment, touching or even looking at minors will come out. That's not apostasy. That's following the shepherd, JS, himself.

I hope the world will see how imperfect the TSCC is. How much longer can this fake church can keep up appearances? For real! The truth is on the internet. Nobody can make it up like JS did. Until a mass of people demand truth from the TSCC it will morg on.

A few apostles excommunicated even though had 2nd anointing:

Amasa Lyman--insubordination.

Albert Carrington--adultery--1885

Moses Thatcher--insubordination on political matters--1890s.

Richard Lyman--adultery--1940s.

John W. Taylor and Matthew Cowley--refusing to submit on polygamy Manifesto--early 1900s.

There are more high-level men. On a lazy August afternoon I don't want to bother to look them up.

It can be only one or a combo of these scenarios:

1) he's gay.
2) he liked other ladies too much.
3) he's an intellectual thinker. Who questions his own assumptions.
4) he knocked off a 7-11 and its something criminal.

Prez Hamula was my stake president over 25 years ago in Mesa. I even got to confess and repent my premarital sex to him. That was fun...not.

My TBM family is freaking out right now.

I really, really, really hope he didn't cheat on his wife or something like that. I hope he just decided he couldn't lie about TSCC anymore.
