According to Mormon apologists, Joseph Smith was a "poorly educated farm boy," yet he was able to write the Book of Mormon.
Benjamin Franklin also did not have a great deal of formal education (it ended when he was 10), yet he excelled in multiple fields. He demonstrated that lightning is electricity, invented the lightning rod, and helped write the Declaration of Independence. He was an accomplished writer and statesman. All this in spite of the fact that Franklin, like Smith, had little formal education.

Joseph Smith is the author of the Book of Mormon, which I view as a work of fantasy fiction. There is ample evidence that parts of this work were plagiarized. Furthermore, he may have had writing assistance.

Not to mention that he fathered our public healthcare.

Franklin had a multitude of women. At least he had the good sense to not marry them.

It goes to show that edumacation does not guarantee sucess if a person has the passion and creativity to apply themselves.

Franklin's gift to the world of the lightning rod saved countless lives.

Joseph's creatively only served to ruin lives.

Franklin was a self taught scientist who was the first American awarded with an honorary doctorate. Joseph Smith was a liar, grifter, and cheat.

So far as it is known Benjamin Franklin did not use religion as a ruse to obtain sex.
