Again, if a pure Gentile firmly believes the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and yields obedience to it, in such a case I will give you the words of the Prophet Joseph—"When the Lord pours out the Holy Ghost upon that individual he will have spasms, and you would think that he was going into fits." Joseph said that the Gentile blood was actually cleansed out of their veins, and the blood of Jacob made to circulate in them; and the revolution and change in the system were so great that it caused the beholder to think they were going into fits.

First, I have never seen this happen, nor does any one ever mention it in conversion stories. Secondly, wouldn't the Book of Mormon writers have mentioned this alarming trait when entire nations were converted?

What of Christs visit?
And if that was true, then even if Lehi and his merry band had mixed in with the local population, wouldn't the mass 'cleansing' of the peoples blood create a major genetic shift in about 32 AD?

"...the effect of the Holy Ghost upon a Gentile, is to purge out the old blood, and make him actually of the seed of Abraham. That man that has none of the blood of Abraham (naturally) must have a new creation by the Holy Ghost. In such a case, there may be more of a powerful effect upon the body, and visible to the eye, than upon an Israelite, while the Israelite at first might be far before the Gentile in pure intelligence."

TPJS p.149

Good ole racist doctrine about the superiority of hebrew lineage.

( this statement is still quoted in the institute manual for the BoA. http://institute.lds.org/manuals/pearl-of-great-price-student-manual/pgp-3-a2-01.asp under Abra 2:10 )

The book of mormon still teaches that righteousness will lead to a lightening of skin color, right?

Not anymore. COJCOLDS changed it with this -

Before 1981
2 Nephi 30:6
...they shall be a white and a delightsome people.

After 1981
2 Nephi 30:6
...they shall be a pure and a delightsome people.

The references not changed in Alma and 3 Nephi were something that supposedly already happened long ago. So the Book of Mormon people of the past were able to have the curse removed, but the American Indian today will be pure but with a dark skin. But they are "pure" only if they become LDS and if they discard the "traditions of their fathers." Otherwise they are still cursed.

I find these changes highly evident of the 15 knowing the scam. that is, they deliberately changed the policy of blacks holding the p-hood and then within that year convened a council to change the BoM text, revising scriptures and doctrines to pretend TSCC wasn't really ever racist. The coverup is strong evidence that they know what they do and do it for good image.

It has happened with the Bible at periodic intervals. The reasons for the changes were essentially the same as with the BOM. Someone (or a group of people) in authority felt the implications of the text as they were were not appealing to the current social sensibilities. They found ways either through creative interpretation or small changes to the text to alter the original (or rather the previous) understanding.

The curse of Ham was interpreted by many Christians to mean the Blacks, and was used to justify slavery. But the Bible is not nearly as clear about Blacks as the Book of Mormon is on America's indigenous people.

No other church has taught that for the American Indian, the only way to remove god's curse (marked with a dark skin) is to join that church.

So gentiles get their blood cleansed, but the American Indian keeps the mark of the curse no matter what. But god will love them if they become mormon.

The Book of Moses is pretty specific as far as interpreting what the bible must have meant as far as race is concerned. So while the BoM is specific about the wickedness of the Native Indians, the Book of Moses and later the Book of Abraham levelled the same charge against the Blacks.

I can't think of any other Christian based religion that has done this, using the claim of modern revelation to a prophet to clarify scriptures concerning the curse of black people.

Also claiming that the BofM was written by the ancestors of America's indigenous people, then trying to push it on them with curses included.

I can't imagine a more racist based church claiming divine inspiration to support their teachings.

Writing that gentiles who are not cursed get their blood cleansed while using the Book of Moses and Book of Abraham to target blacks and the Book of Mormon to target America's indigenous people is beyond excuse.

No amount of editing or small changes to their scriptures can fix this. There is no way they can "cleanse" their own writings. This church should be disbanded and its writings archived in a museum under the topic of nineteenth century racism.

...he would consider him "loathsome" and dark-skinned. Even though Joseph Smith studied hebrew, I'll also bet that Joshua Seixas was a light-skinned european jew. Just a thought.

Yep, Jesus is not the blue eyed blonde Eurocentric caricature we hold up for display. He would have been your typical Palestinian with dark skin, black hair, and dark eyes.

Brigham would have killed anyone who pointed that out.

They change the BofM to suit, but you can read that the then Apostle Spencer W Kimball had an article in the Improvement Era entitled "The Day of the Lamanites" Dec. 1960, pp.922-925 where the word white appears. Now you can't blame that on the printers. This article appeared after the October 1960 General Conference, so I'm sure he made reference to it there, and thousands of people would have heard it. Then they insult our intelligence and start messing with the BofM.
Stupid cult.
