Eyring: "Hey, Community of Christ is selling a book for 35 million. Let's buy it!"
Uchtdorf: "Really? Well, I think perhaps the money could be better spent, maybe, in Africa, building a few hospitals, or maybe a few schools for Mormon youth there. What do you think?"
Eyring: "What? Are you kidding me? We can finally get that BOOK, and we can put it in our new Church History museum. Members of the Church will go BONKERS when they see it in there!"
Uchtdorf: "I'm sure they will, but, you know, 35 million for a BOOK? I just think the money can be spent better elsewhere, you know, widows and orphans and all that."
Eyring: "Let me call President Monson!"
Monson: "Hello?"
Eyring: "Yes, President Monson. This is Eyring. Should be spend 35 million dollars of tithing money taking care of widows and orphans in Africa, or should we buy that book you always wanted, from those RLDS losers in Missouri?"
Monson: "You know, when blacks first moved into West Salt Lake, I moved out! BUY THE BOOK! I'm going back to sleep!"
Eyring: "You heard it Uchtdorf, we're buying the book!"
"sale price of $35 million was provided by generous donors." This is a tax scam for wealthy Mormons. (Remember Mark Hofmann days) Mormons buy "LDS historical paraphernalia" for $$ but when donated, church says its worth $$$.
I was wondering about this. Are wealthy donors really forking over the money, or is this just a "PR white lie" so that the church doesn't have to admit that $35 million is chump change for them?
I'm taking bids for my 1st Edition of "Dianetics, the Modern Science of Mental Health" signed by EL-ron Hubbadubba. Just holding it chases those nasty engrams away!
I've decided to offer it as part of a package deal with my First Edition, First Printing (condition: "Excellent" according to one antiquarian, with original yellow jacket) copy of the "Big Book" of Alcoholics Anonymous.
I'm looking for something north of $20K. (Seriously.)
With this deal, you can save your life ("Big Book") and lose your mind ("Dianetics"). ;-)
Some Scientologist will give you a couple grand for that Dianetics book, signed. At least 10 grand. I would put it on E-Bay. Seriously.

I was joking about the Dienetics book. But I do have a first edition/first printing of "Alcoholics Anonymous," and am looking for serious money. "Serious," as I said is north of $25K.
The CoC will be selling their "Temple of Peace" to the LDS Church in about 20 years or less. The young people see no reason to stay in the CoC, what does it offer them? Nothing. They don't feel like going to Church every Sunday just to hear old people fart and how Jesus loves the gays. They have more important things to do, like go to the Mall, or hang out with friends.

Was the $30 Million going to kill them or help them find homes? Kill 25 Million and send 5 million to homes. Within 10 years it will be back to same levels.
Never mind the kitties. Hunt the Canada geese that are fowling our parks, playing fields, sidewalks, waterways (etc.etc.etc.) and serve the meat to America's homeless!
