Since we all know that exalted men sport big, flowing beards, I contend that it stands to reason that when Elohim cursed the Lamanites with a skin of blackness, he also took away their ability to grow facial hair as a means to emasculate them, or to stand as a type and a shadow that they couldn't physically emulate a celestial being.
I should have brought this up the last time I ever attended EQ/HP.

Since the Lamanites/Native Americans are biological descendants of Siberians (and probably some other Asian strains as well)...and since Siberian/Asian males typically have scant facial hair, so do their Native Americans/Lamanite relatives.

Because they are all from the same biological ancestry, though, if the curse was real, wouldn't it also apply to the Siberians and other Asians who share the same biological ancestry as the Lamanites???

I think it’s because God wanted lamanites at BYU.

As an apostate I'd LOVE to be cursed with a loss of leg, arm, underarm, and facial hair. I'd like to keep my brows and lashes however. Maybe God forgot to curse me. Will someone please put my name on the prayer rolls in the temple so I may be similarly cursed?

As a good Lamanite, I spent the first 60 years of my life with practically zero body hair. But since then, it's hair galore. I am turning into a bear, especially the ears.

I'm thinking ghawd screwed up...

Maybe you're onto something Elderolddog! Have you also turned "white and delightsome"? I already know you are delightsome. I think God may be on our (apostate) side. I'll bet the hair coming out your ears is adorable!

I like the old dog's "color" better than pasty white.
It's a very pleasant, appealing tone. Sort of a built-in tan, without the skin cancer risks.

(love ya, dog!) :)

Love ya, back, Hie!

And no offense, but I do not want to be resurrected as pale as you are...

So, luckily, we are agreed that I won't be!

Neither do I! :)

I don't think either of us has to worry about it though...

I think TSCC changed the meaning of "white" in that phrase to mean the soul will become white or cleansed or some other poppycock to be more politically correct. Nothing like coming up with a modern explanation after removing one's foot from one's mouth.

It's well known that Jews have very little facial hair.

Really! I inherited my hairiness from my Jewish dad. But it doesn't bother me. It's just hair.

Oh how I hate the term "Lamanite" Could we please use Native American or American Indian . Do we call the Roman Catholic Church "The Great and Ambominable Church" Please stop using Joseph Smith and his nonsense to describe American Indians .

Sorry, I involuntarily lapse back to Mormonese sometimes :)
In all reality, everyone here knows that there was not ever a curse of darkened skin, just like how there's no such thing as Lamanites in the first place. Obviously I wouldn't refer to an actual Native American as a Lamanite.
Cheers!

Are you talking about men or women?

the steroids they took when they became body builders caused them to lose their facial hair.

That definitely explains Arnold Friberg and his homoerotic repertory.

The curse is having a thick beard, and having to (depending on the society you're in and the preferences of the time) having to shave the damn thing every day.

Lamanites have it made.

For gawd so hated man he gave him facial hair and no razor..likely the greatest reason against intelligent design...a couple more might be having to eat very four hours....needing tons of sleep or your Cheese will slide off your cracker...also needing to drink eight glasses a day then look like a lunatic on a mission when nature calls and your four blocks from the nearest bush
