The article contained a photo of George W. Bush and a Thomas S. Monson shaking hands.

Anyone find the handshake to be peculiar?

It does look like a firm handshake.

Maybe a little too firm handshake?

Two world leaders in their own right shaking hands. Both powerful figureheads.

I don't read too much into it other than two alpha males making a photo op.

Bush's index finger is extended, rather than clasped.
Making it look a bit like the "patriarchal grip" / Freemason secret handshake.

The thing is, though, Bush isn't a Mason. Or a mormon.

Maybe some ex-mormon employee of his taught him the secret handshake (I show it to anybody who asks). I don't know. There have been other times Bush has taken photos shaking hands, and people thought it was a Masonic handshake...maybe somebody taught him *that.*

The last Freemason to be a sitting US president was Gerald R. Ford.

The question is, are Bonesmen also Freemasons? Is Yale’s Skull & Bones secret society connected in some way with Freemasonry?

Monson might not have been a Mason, but was on the Council of Foreign Relations and a member of the Trilateral Commission.

I think Tommy was tickling George's wrist with his index finger, so George just gave him a little tickle back.

Maybe Tommy mistook him for a lonely widow?
