If Joe Smith came back, who would he recognise as his church?

The Utah branch of his cult, or the Fundamentalist wing?

I drove through Hildale and Colorado City last week...

As I was driving northwest through Colorado City, I came to a green Highway marker announcing "Welcome to Utah". Just a few yards beyond this sign is a small billboard with the current travel ad for Utah on it. "Utah - Life Elevated".

As I drove past the Life Elevated sign, all I noticed were the dilapidated, unfinished, homes and yards of Hildale. Life Elevated - indeed.

The fundie plyg groups have stayed the same.

I don't think Joe would be up of mondern tchnology and customs. It would take a huge longterm adjustment for him to blend in with mainstream mormons.
