Spoiler alert...Sheldon is investigating religions. The high school librarian is a Mormon and sums up mormonism succinctly and brutally...talking about the "sacred" belief of mormon (men) having their own planets. Curious how the sheep will react..

I really liked when she wondered if she would end up in her cat's planet.

The promos didn't do anything for me so I'll have to ponder that

I find his character so arrogant and grating that I quit watching BBT about 10 years ago.

You have to look at Sheldon as having Asperger's and then it all makes sense as why he acts the way he does.

I love Young Sheldon, especially his mother and grandmother. Annie Potts can do no wrong.

The scene on religion, specifially Mormon, tonight made me laugh outloud.

leonard's mother to sheldon's mother (in other show) concerning the bible:

won't you read another book?

reply

I will when god writes one

they do the caricature of belief very, very well. In fact, they do all the characters very well - especially the jewish ones. Each of the characters appears to be on the autism spectrum and sheldon uses a tagline regularly: I'm not insane, my mother had me tested.

It does re-associate madness and genius, once again, but anything that mainstreams the problems these genii have is a good thing, as far as I am concerned. Most of the world's population are not jocks or thickos so it is refreshing to see a different subject grouping being celebrated in the show.

Looking forward to block watching the new series when I have time.

Viewed the show with a friend; asked for a reaction to the Mormon female's librarian's statement her religion. It was stated, "Since I don't know anything about mormonism, I wonder what liberties they took with that description of beliefs"

Well, none, right?

Garden-variety non-LDS can't believe the LDS doctrine. And I do imagine the LDS are trying to backpedal on their wackier beliefs. If only she'd mentioned Kolob and the garments...

I always thought a hilarious episode of 'BBT' could be written when the missionaries show up at Sheldon's door.

Can you imagine Raj asking about why he has dark skin, just like a Lamanite?

I was talking to co-workers about the show. They asked: Do Mormons really believe the get-your-own-planet thing?

Yep, I said.

One googled and the LDS Newsroom says "No."

Is it doctrine, used to be doctrine or something made up by the "anti's".

Waddaya all know 'bout this?

Here is an interesting compilation of data courtesy of Wikipedia. It ought to leave a few mouths agape.

While it doesn't specifically endorse the every planet doctrine, it does support the potential, in that humans becoming ghawds does open that door.
