The real question is this: What does it mean when the theological beliefs and tenents of a religious sect become one and the same with those of a political party?

What does this mean for rational thought and objective reality?

How can people who only think of adherence to religious orthodoxy make competent, rational decisions for a secular society -- especially when confronted with problems that have nothing to with religion or require soulutions that go against their faith?

These types are scary. They can justify any of their views by deciding "God" is guiding them. They don't need any d@mn facts either.

Thank God he told her no!

So "god" in this case was her campaign staff, who told her, "You haven't got a chance in hell of winning."

Right.

It's frightening how well she would fit in here in Utah.

I would like to think God told her "hell, no!" It would vastly improve my opinion of God.

It means oppression for those not of that party.

To me, this kind of thinking is one of the most scary things going on in this country.

Animals and humans have survival instincts and they need to heed these feelings. Nothing wrong with that.

Read "The Gift of Fear" by Gavin DeBecker to find out how listening to intuition can make life better and sometimes keep us safe from unnecessary harm.

Cheryl, I read that book a few years ago, and it helped me immensely. I'm glad you brought that up.

This book was endorsed by Oprah which means it has very high probability of being pseudoscientific woo.Oprah is responsible for a lot of the anti vaccination movement with her promotion of the Jenny McCarthy "vaccinations cause autism" nonsense. Oprah has promoted a lot of woo over the years and why anyone listens to her is beyond me .

I hate to bring up the 'obvious' that somebody (anybody) and many those that commented 'can't read English'!!!!!! Maybe it is because they have an agenda and can get away with stupid! No surprise here!!!!

She actually said ----
“I tried to have my ears open and hear what God was saying to me, and I considered it for quite a long time,” Bachmann said Saturday on “Understanding the Times Radio” with Jan Markell. “It became very clear to me that I wasn’t hearing any call from God to do this.”

I use 'intuition' a lot and what she said is very much in line with how intuition comes to many people. Not necessarily or ever from God but from the 'divine' ----- many who use it definitely believe it does.

I don't care what inspired her not to run. I'm just glad the decision was made. It would seem that she didn't have much of a chance of winning, but for awhile the same was said about Trump, and look at us now.

If we don’t put a stop to this madness, next thing you know a bunch of these nut jobs will try to form their own country claiming to hear from some heavenly horror show that “all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights”

As a citizen of MN, all I can say is "Thank you God".
