The Word of Wisdom,

D&C89:10 And again, verily I say unto you, all wholesome herbs God hath ordained for the constitution, nature, and use of man—11 Every herb in the season thereof, and every fruit in the season thereof; all these to be used with prudence and thanksgiving.

Sounds like Rastafarianism to me.

We have Cain to thank for these lyrics:

"I am on the rock and then I check a stock
I have to run like a fugitive to save the life I live
I'm gonna be Iron like a Lion in Zion
I'm gonna be Iron like a Lion in Zion
Iron Lion Zion
I'm on the run but I ain't got no gun
See they want to be the star
So they fighting tribal war
And they saying Iron like a Lion in Zion
Iron like a Lion in Zion
Iron Lion Zion
I'm on the rock (running and you running)
I take a stock (running like a fugitive)
I had to run like a fugitive just to save the life I live
I'm gonna be Iron like a Lion in Zion
I'm gonna be Iron like a Lion in Zion
Iron Lion Zion, Iron Lion Zion, Iron Lion Zion
Iron like a Lion in Zion, Iron like a lion in Zion
Iron like a Lion in Zion, (Iron Lion Zion) Iron like a Lion in Zion
(Running like a fugitive) Iron like a Lion in Zion (Iron Lion Zion), Iron like a Lion in Zion"

It’s always the season. Not buying the prudence. Ok with thanksgiving. That’s how I roll.

Hey, it's just as valid an interpretation as any other.

"...all wholesome herbs God hath ordained..."

That's the catch. Defining it as wholesome and ordained by god. All mormons have to do is say that any given herb is not wholesome and not ordained by god.

Now, if mormonism REALLY was rastafarianism for white people......the church would be a lot more mellow, but, the additional desire for consuming junk food as a result, could be their undoing :)

Little story....my only mission regret.

Last island I was on was Jamaica. 4 of us drove into the hills and found Bob Marley's grave, at his childhood home. We met his mom, some aunts and cousins. His mom asked someone to go to the house and bring back some ganja to share with us. We declined, so she told them to bring oranges, which we all enjoyed together.

If I could do it again, I would have joined them in their initial offering.....how many people could say they shared a spliff with Bob Marley's mom?

I've seen, on more than one occasion, the Wailers, the I3s, and individually, Rita Marley, Judy Mowatt and Marcia Griffiths (both of whom used to come to Salt Lake City often, during the eight laties, in the reign of Irie Heights), but I don't remember ever seeing Robert Nesta "Bob" Marley's muddah, Sidilla Editha "Cedella" Marley Booker, singer, writer (except in the movies). That would have been Irie. She's quite a character, beautiful, talented, loving and funny.

You could have done worse things than tasted the island breezes... but for the wickedness (which never was happiness) of Mormonism, and those damn companions of yours.

PS. If there really were words of wisdom, they would allow - even call for - one to be one with nature.

However, JS, Jr. got his 'Revelation' for the WoW from Rastafarianism.

Mormonism For Dummies: don't do (what you want to do/ what's natural) what we do but what we say, though we've got it all mixed up - and fuNcked up.
