Tuesday night, Utah GOP/Mormon Representative Jon Stanard R-St. George, abruptly resigned his seat in the middle of the Legislative session. The reason given was he wanted to "spend more time with his family" and his Dad has cancer. He scrubbed his Government website and deleted his social media accounts. Many thought that odd.-

Culturally strict in St George....I think most people all over the country would frown on hiring a prostitute. Not just conservatives, all though there is always exceptions.

It's not so much that he hired a hooker. It's that he pushed legislation for harsher prostitution laws for others, while he was hiring them. He used his Legislative trips to SLC to hire escorts. He is a vocal anti-porn politician. And in Utah that can include Cosmo and the S.I. Swimsuit edition. On top of that, he gave the reason for his resignation as spending time with his cancer stricken father. He's like the Utah mormon politician that introduced stricter alcohol policy and then got busted for DUI. Hypocrites. All of them.

Let's all pledge not to sell him a cake! That'll show him how serious we are!!

Right? If they applied their "religious principles" standard to everyone, then every adulterer, every un-married non-virgin, everyone that lives together out of wedlock, everyone that ever stole a pack of gum, etc. would be denied service.

Probably not. Seattle is getting expensive. It was $100 when I [first] lived there (90s). Not that I would know. I'm just saying. So, now, $1,000 might do it. It's not cheap [though some are cheaper than others, I hear]... speaking of higher hookers. Not higher than I!

I don't know about 'right to work' in Utah, or Seattle (I often stop for coffee... and then I get right to work). In some instances, it's wrong to work. In some places, people can't find any... and in some (suit)cases, they never even look.

Now before any of you get judgmental I think its important to remember that the angels of heaven may have played a role in what happened. What if an Angel had come down with a fiery sword and threatened to destroy poor Jon Stanard if he didn't enter into some new and glorious everlasting principle that involved bedding that hooker? It doesn't say anywhere that the Church excommunicated him and for all we know he was just doing the will of the Lord.
