I was watching a news programme earlier that was discussing this. One of the panelists stated that the (alleged) abuse was "...reported to the FBI. It was reported to the White House. It was reported to THE MORMON CHURCH" (emphasis the commentator's).

So yeah, maybe a Mormon leader somewhere is going to have to respond at some point. Unless they just ignore the outside world (as they do when it suits them).

But I found it interesting that an unrelated to moism someone has picked up on the fact that the church didn't step in way back.

I really feel for the ex-gf (3rd complainant) who apparently indicated she thought she was going crazy. I think she was referring to the fact that by day the guy seemed so competent, so normal, so full of "integrity" to those around him. By night, he because an abuser. Weird and scary stuff.

The mormon church is misogynistic, women are second

class members. There are so many stories to tell

about wives being told to go back to their abusive,

cheating husbands by their Bishops who also admonish

them to pray, and obey and love thier husbands.

It heaps abuse upon abuse and the victim is always

blamed. This story is not new news, its been going on

for years and now its getting out to the general public.

Good, its time people knew the truth.

So a woman is getting punched in the face by her husband, and the bishop tells her to keep getting punched in the face, and she agrees?

Seems dumb. What am I missing? Why would she do that?

I will be told she was afraid to leave. Same reason people stick with the church.

Apparently if you are afraid, it is okay to tolerate abuse.

It's not just mo women. Very common in abuse situations. Reasons abound. If it hasn't happened in your world it's harder to understand. It's not like a math problem -pure logic. I would not rush to judge.

Yes. It's me Nightingale again on crazy little phone that won't log me in.
