What does tscc mean by "porn addiction"? What's considered as porn addiction? I read the brilliant post yesterday about men being addicted to porn. The only reason why they leave the Mormon church. Now I wonder....

...if I watch porn only once and my spouse sees it, and I convince them this was the first and only time, will I still be labeled as a porn addict? Honest questions.

Where is the line? Not every one who watches porn is addicted to it. There are more Mormons addicted to their morning Diet Coke, than porn viewers.

Sure, some people do have serious problems when it comes to porn, and I'm not endorsing watching porn.

Mormon definition:
You look at any porn, ever, for any length of time.

Everyone else's definition:

You're so obsessed with looking at porn that you do it instead of eating, sleeping, working, or anything else.

My definition is porn is an addiction when it is the only kind of sexual expression a person uses even in the existence of other avenues to sexually express oneself.

I don't think of it like drug addiction. It is more like food addiction which for me is consuming way more calories than needed and from mostly easy and non-nutritive sources more days than not.

Sexual expression can be a frustrating, emotionally draining, and time consuming process. Porn is easy like high calorie junk food is easy.

TSCC can’t actually address it any other way than to label any usage as addiction. To do so gives a level of legitimacy, which they can’t abide.

It serves multiple purposes simultaneously. The most detrimental to the immediate situation is that it lays the foundation upon which the dehumanization of its male membership is built. It takes normal human behavior and criminalizes it without any rational dialogue and the sentence being eternal.
S
econd... it turns every male member into a potential “pervert” and places their spouse in the position of overseer. This creates an unequal relationship which is very unlikely to survive, which then further artificially vilifies the “sinner” as the cause of the break up, and justifies the “righteousness” of the spouse, further binding her to the cult.

It’s a manufactured “problem” that destroys families all in the name of control. TSCC can go fuck themselves. Asshats.

The porn use doesn’t even have to be real. If you go inactive or apostasize, it’s just assumed. Porn is the new offended.

We'll let you do it.

You're off on a pretty good start!

Are you a porn addict if it is for medicinal purposes? My gyno said post-menopausal women should have at least 3 orgasms a week. Not saying I do everything my doctors tell me. Just asking a question so I know if it would put my fucking eternal salvation in jeopardy. I worry about that a lot, you know.

Orgasms and porn are not necessarily related. But you would get in trouble for masturbation, but being female I bet you aren’t asked about that...because, you know, no sacred sperm are “wasted”.

Haha. I almost wish I were still in to see if a bishop would ask a woman in her 60s if she pleasures herself. I’d ask him if it’s ok as long as I’m not fantasizing about anyone in the first presidency. Now that Deiter is out.

Those that worry so much about porn are addicts. It is obviously controlling their lives. They should stop looking over others shoulders to see what others are looking at, but obviously they can't do that either.

The mormon definition of porn is part of the equation.

Bare shoulders, swim suits (sports illustrated is mormon porn), yoga pants etc.

Basically it is a control mechanism and a convenient fall back for blame and shame.

But not gods with erections in the Book of Abraham.

Do you have, or have you ever had any kind of a sex drive at all ?

Do you want to avoid burning in Hell forever in the next life?

Do you want to avoid losing everything you have in this life?

Are you stupid enough to completely turn all control of these matters over to THE (self serving predatory) (MORmON) church?

Does LDS Inc / THE (MORmON) church have a need for an (universally applicable) issue that they can use as leverage in an (their) effort to shame and humiliate you in order to maintain control over you ( so that they can continue to make MOReMONey) ?

IF the answer to all of these questions is yes, then you are a porn addict.

WHY does this issue seem to bear so much resemblance to MORmONISM'S completely overwrought obsession with another issue (masturbation)??

Could it be that some people end up on an outbound trajectory relative to THE (MORmON) church/religion because they get weary (as in sick to death) of listening to filthy, foul, vile, disgusting, meddling, self impressed, hypocritical old men endlessly, openly, opportunistically vilifying them ?

It’s almost as if they perceive “the gospel of Christ” to be entirely comprised of obsession over other people’s sexual habits. PATHETIC

The Mormon gods care more about sex than saving people. IT is part and parcel of a religious belief wrapped around traditional family. Once people break mentally out of a mold of religiously tying themselves to a prejudiced notion of sexual expression they will realize that what they thought was addiction was merely their biology expressing itself in the most acceptable way.

Mormonism is a receipt for porn to reign in their kingdoms on earth governing biologically constrained people.

Well, there was lower head Lord MORmON Jesus, right in the middle of His grand latter day restoration ( that is THE ramp up to MORmON Jesus making His grand return) when His greatest Prophet ever, Joseph Smith who was born specifically to help MORmON Jesus be able to return, just happened to stumble onto the (prickly) issue of polygamy.

What could MORmON Jesus do? Just say to forget about polygamy after it had come up as a topic? since "polygamy" was a distraction that had ALREADY been too much of detraction to THE work of THE (MORmON) church and had ALREADY caused way too much damage to THE work ? -NO! MORmON Jesus could not do that!!!! because in the grand MORmON scheme of things, THE (privileged much older male authority figure) profit (some how) ending up having sex with a much younger very vulnerable female IS THE work of THE lower head lord MORmON Jesus, since MORmON Jesus really is a MORmON who can not learn from mistakes in the past.

MORmONISM -it makes sense to MORmONS !!!!

The brethren are addicted to convincing non-addicts they're addicted.

I'm still trying to define "sex addiction".

Sex addiction is a real thing, but most people don't actually know what it encompasses. Curiously, a professional sex therapist told me that sex addicts do not actually enjoy the sex itself; it has nothing to do with pleasure.

Think of it like those homeless alcoholics who will go as far as to drink hairspray in order to consume alcohol. Doesn't matter how it tastes, as long as they can get that fix. This, as opposed to someone who enjoys a drink because they want to, not because they need to (as a coping mechanism, etc.)

Is it found in DSM5? I honestly don’t know...
In any case, in the REAL world, very few people would qualify as sex addicts. In MORMON make believe land, virtually all males are.
Tell me again how it isn’t a cult??

I’ve found that generally the loudest in opposition to a thing are usually the worst offenders. Ted Haggard comes to mind...
My bet is that most of the top 15 are legit sex addicts themselves.

Well, here is a link to a video of the YouTube channel, 'Sexplanations'. Just a short answer she gives, but what you can also do is search the net for a sexologist or sex therapist who can answer your questions more in-depth.
