The Moonies have been supported by both the South Korean government and the CIA as a bulwark against Communism and those who criticize the neoliberal economic-political system of developed countries.

Ironic isn't it when there was a time when Mormon missionaries were being accused of being American spies that a religious organization which *did* promote American interests actually was out there doing stuff.

Moreover there are accusations that the current winter Olympics much like Nagano and SLC were obtained by bribes.

Will the moonies get rich because of this ?

Since they have a majority share in Pyeongchang, I can imagine they will collect quite a few dividends. As for actual Moonies on the ground, i doubt it.

Much like SLC Olympics and Rio etc, the money will go to a handful of people.

A Unification-affiliated church ("Sanctuary Church and Rod of Iron Ministries" in Pennsylvania is having a "blessing of the AR-15s" not far from an elementary school. This is for real! I'm a Christian and a gun owner, but this is just too, TOO much!
