A lady I work with thought I was Mormon because I "dress like a Mormon." I live in Utah, so maybe it's a local thing.

And no short, very tight skirts.

I'm not a mormon, but I could pass for one easily.

Yeah, when I was still working I had a customer tell me I looked like I could be a Relief Society President. Yikes!

You have a knowing look in your eye and a bit of a swagger from understanding and experience.

If someone said that I dressed like a Mormon (woman), I'd be getting a cuter wardrobe!

You dress conservatively. No bare arms, low cut tops, bare bellies or short skirts or shorts

Had my wardrobe until you hit shorts. The rest is kind of me.

My daughter's group of high school friends could pick out Mormons at the beach. They even would follow people a bit, pick up on their conversations, or ask them flat-out where they were from, to prove they were right.

The women and men wore "shorts" that came down to above the knee. Swimwear would be a cheap tank-suit for the women, with the shorts on over it. The men would swim in what looked like basketball shorts.

Styles changed, and some surfers still wear the baggy long shorts, but whatever the style, you can tell a Mormon, because they wear their clothes very tight--especially the women.

I'm sure none of you ladies wear your clothes that tight. I suspect that some Mormons are proud of their Mormon underwear, and deliberately like to show them off. Most of the Mormon men would wear a pure white tee shirt to the beach.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with dressing like a businesswoman. It's the RS presidents who try to dress like US!

I occasionally fly to Las Vegas out of the Jet Blue hub closest to Disneyland, and it's very easy to spot who is on the SLC based flight which leaves either before or after the Vegas flight. It's not just the Disneyland bags as carry-on items, but the fact that they wear layers, even in the summer and sometimes you see the Mormon underwear peeking out from long shorts. Sometimes, there's a young looking mother who when she bends over to pick up a toddler, her shirt rides up slightly, revealing the white Mormon underwear underneath. It's a way to pass the time waiting for your flight to board, spotting the Mormons going back after their Disneyland vacation.

Gonna guess means you wear modest clothing. IE it would cover garments

I had an argument with my coworker, when I had my internship for a big investment bank in SLC. She'd say that our boss doesn't know how to dress professionally. The boss would wear dresses (appropriate length), but her shoulders would be bare. At the office she usually had a blazer on, but when she was in her own space, she'd take it off. I found her style very professional. Yes, the dress was sleeveless, but not inappropriate. My coworker couldn't get over it. We'd argue that TSCC dress code is a different story. She instested that church standards = professional standards. I argued that a person can look professionally, but doesn't have to wear garments and twenty shirts over them, so nobody see what's under. She called her business clothes church clothes.

You've gotta stop wearing green aprons and baker's hats out in public.

How do you dress?

Maybe you should undress.

And redress!

Mormons like to say that to people in order to get them interested and rope them in.

"You look like a Mormon bishop" is what Paul Dunn used to tell strangers.

It's just another ruse.

If you're a woman:
*Stepford Housewifey, looks like clothes come from Utah/Arizona boutiques like DownEast Basics/LulaRoe/Roolee/Wren and Ivory/Nest Boutique/Olive Ave
*Wears lots of makeup to get the "natural, not wearing makeup look). Extra Mormon-ish if wears brands like Lipsense. May occasionally add some daring colors, like bright red lips.
*Preppy, young intern style that looks half business-half church pew ready. Could be worn with garments
*Nicely done hair, sometimes extra quirky (Utah bob aka "can I speak to the manager hair"
*Cardigans, mommy button-up sweaters, calf-length pleated skirts, floral prints
*Currently in style is grandma shoes

I say this as an exmormon who still has some Mormon style in me haha. I didn't notice it until my boyfriend, who is a body mod artist, told me I still have Mormon fashion. It's not that it looks bad, honestly a lot of Mormon style is quite flattering (with some exceptions like the grandma shoes trend). But it is stereotypical for sure.
