When I clicked on your link, it came up as infecting my computer with some god-awful and contagious and debilitating virus that I will never recover from if I procceded.
That article is still up on yahoo. Just scroll til you find it. It basically says he gave most of it away and insisted on complete financial transparency. He wrote several books that became best sellers. A lot of the money came from that. Another article I read about 20 years ago said he still lived in the house where he had lived most of his life.
I forget if he had inherited it from his parents or if he and his wife bought it after they married. It sounds like he personally gave away more money than the LDS church does.
