It's true that Ghawd loves Tardigrades more than humans, its absolutely true.

Wait, the articles says this new variety "...could survive and reproduce in a laboratory environment, which is very rare for these creatures..."

But...but...they can survive anything from frozen solid, to high heat, to the vacuum of space, but they usually can't survive the relative coziness of a lab?

Hmmmm....

That was part of my point! Humans aren't being upgraded by their (supposed) creator!

Perhaps there's something missing from the lab environment - something that other tardigrades need...

This reminds me of one of my favorite stories.

The great biologist J.B.S. Haldane was giving a speech on evolution to an audience that included a number of august theologians. One of them stood and asked him a question: "what have your studies taught you about our Lord Creator?"

Haldane paused for a moment and then said, "that he had an inordinate fondness for beetles."

Judic West was there, and joined all the other atheists in the crowd, as if on cue, to begin tittering!! He said some things to those in attendence, but asked not to be quoted. And I will respect his wishes.

Damn! I so wanted to hear from Judic.

Sometimes I worry that he is a bit like Godot. . .

Regarding "Wating for Godot", a member of the British gentility offered this complaint:

"One of the many themes running through the play is the desire of two old tramps continually to relieve themselves. Such a dramatisation of lavatory necessities is offensive and against all sense of British decency."

Tardigrades have no sense of British decency...

Given that few of us indigents are from the UK, I'm not sure that British decorum should detain us.

We've come full circle. We're back to tardigrades after another month, huh? I guess this is good news because I think tardigrades are really one of the coolest little critters. Perhaps the tardigrade should be the unofficial mascot of this website like tapirs are for that other exmormon site. We need t-shirts now.

As the weather warms up, I'm going to order one of these t-shirts. Or I will make my own t-shirt with a tardigrade on the front and I will print "I survived Mormonism". It seems suitable for a mascot in this respect. Fuck, am I sounding too nerdy yet? Okay, I'll shut up.
