O/T: If someone said “Chancellor Palpatine” would you know who that is?

He got brought up today at Church (don’t ask. It was a random discussion in gospel doctrine) and I didn’t know who they were talking about. I caught some crap for it, lol.

Am I pop culturally illiterate or is that something I should automatically know?

From the Star Wars films. He was (spoilers!) the emperor in the original trilogy and Chancellor Palpatine in the prequels. Yes, I am a nerd.

I used to run right out to see any film with the "Star Wars" label. I haven't seen the last one yet. I guess I've had my fill.

Yep, Star Wars.

Palpatine was Senator from Naboo. Then Chancellor. Then Supreme Chancellor. Then Emperor.

He worked his way up the ladder using the dark side of the force...kinda like mormon apostles :)
