Gheco, Elderolddog just mentioned that you will be having

a serious surgery soon and I wanted to wish you luck and

love and good health. We will all be thinking of you . Some

of us have each had a serious surgery and we know how scary

that can be. Please know we are holding you in our hearts with

much hope that your surgery will be successful and you will

heal rapidly and return to us here and tell us how you are doing.

Thank you. It means a lot and I am getting nervous.

These are things innthis world I want to see and do- such as helping my grandkids grow up.

I will post as it becomes possible.

Hang in there Gheco.

One of my mottos is: "This too shall pass."

Also follow your doctor's orders to rest and take all the time you need to mend from the surgery.

Whatever treatment/s are planned for you will continue post surgery. Surgery is just one stage of the planning.

Even if you feel up to doing something you know that physically you shouldn't take on yet, listen to your inner man. Wait it out. That's one of the hardest things about post-surgery is wanting to take on more during recovery than you know you should until you're fully healed.

Take things slow at first. If there's radiation or chemo in your future you're going to need to conserve your energy for that.

It's beautiful that you want to be here for your grandkids. That purpose!

Every good thought your way. I'll be looking for your posts ----

My son tells me I have to get better for my grandkids.

I ask him, "What grandkids? Is there something you're not telling me?" (He's working on it he tells me.)

That is a wonderful reason, Gheco. Family is life affirming.

May the physicians involved be skillful, kind, and caring.
May you have courage and the strength to get through this and fully recover.

Rooting for ya.

well the surgery is over... Yay Chemo's not so bad except

of course your hair falls out and I mean all your hair falls out.

It does grow back though... just take it one day at a time,

and do what you have to do to get better and keep us posted

about your progress.

Thanks for the update Gheco.

The incision was the worst for me post surgery. Now that's nearly healed; the stitches have fallen off, etc. Scarring is nominal.

Just take it real easy and real slow at first. Enjoy being waited on while you can. It can be habit forming.

:-)

Thank you everyone for the well wishes.

They got most of it, will need some chemo, as well as a colostomy bag

I am very happy they did get most of it, and I am also very happy that the chemo is available for you.

The colostomy bag is good, too...it means you are able to continue on!! :)

Thanks for updating us...and our hopes and wishes continue to surround you.

Sore. But the surgeon stated my numbers are good and I will be able to go home tomorrow.

This could be a lot worse.
