What an incredible, and improbable, life he had!!

What an insightful legacy he left behind!

Wherever he is now, I wish him well.

I hope that his extraordinary mind continues, wherever it is, now that it is free of that horribly non-functional body.

I don't have many heroes, but he was one of them.

He was an intelligent, fascinating and courageous man.

I wish I could have inherited his brains! May he rest in Peace.

Me too.

What makes him more of a hero in my book is how he didn't give up in the face of great adversity when his health nearly failed him.

More than the intellectual giant that he was, he was an overcomer.

He lived a very full life. He married twice, had children, obtained a marvelous education, and had a full, rewarding career. He made extensive contributions to our knowledge base. He traveled in a hot air balloon and floated in zero gravity. A lot of people could do far worse than that.

I just learned that he appeared on the TV show "The Big Bang Theory" seven times! He must really have enjoyed that show and had a good sense of humor. The cast reportedly loved him.

If there is an afterlife, I hope that he will be currently engaged in explaining it. If not, he will one day be the stardust from whence he came.

He also played a hologram of himself on an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

I remember that episode.

On my Facebook feed this a.m.:

"Right about now , Stephen Hawking is saying to himself, "Oh Shit."

Comment under that FB feed:

"God bless him, no more wheelchairs, think of all the great people and animals he met at the Rainbow Bridge."

Between January 8, 1942 and March 14, 2018 something very special happened to all of us, Stephen Hawking came into our life.
