What do people mean when they say “the emperor has no clothes”...

....in relation to the LDS Church?

I’ve heard this a lot, but I’m not sure what they mean by it. Can someone explain?

It means mormons can't see the gaping flaws & abuse in their church.

It's obvious to outsiders and those who have left that the mormon church breaks up families and destroys self esteem.

The emperor is naked, but his subjects are too scared to acknowledge it.

The church is not true, but the members are to scared to acknowledge it.

The Book of Mormon is fake/phony, but the members won't acknowledge it.

The Priesthood is fake/phony, but the members won't acknowledge it.

They're too afraid to say the emperor has no clothes because everyone else is acting like they see them. So if they acknowledge that they cannot see the clothes they think that they will be ridiculed and shamed.

Of course, readers know that if a few brave souls speak up, then everyone will feel free to admit that they can't see them either.

What is sometimes missed is that the emperor was also duped. In the case of LDS inc those who birthed the fraud are gone. Now it is just an exercise in always turning right in spite of the obvious left turn.

BTW, we're the little kid in the "Emperor's New Clothes" story. You know, the ones who don't play along, and are willing to speak up with facts.
