I don't know how I talked my parents into it, but my very first concert was The Beatles at the Cow Palace. I was all of 11.

My last concert was St. Patrick's Day. A band from here in the Bay Area called "Wake the Dead". WtD is sort of a Celtic/Grateful Dead fusion.

My first concert was Peter, Paul & Mary, at the SNU (precursor to UNLV) gym, in 1964.

The only other concert was one I was dragged, kicking and screaming to, in 1979, Hall & Oates, at the Greek Theatre.

I did pay for two seats at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, to attend a concert of some of Tchaikovsky's popular compositions, but I fell asleep and got drool all over my suit coat. My date was tres impressed!! I mostly don't count this one, which was in 1980.

After that I gave up and just hit replay on the CD player and now on YouTube Red.

Different concerts. I also saw a Celtic group whose name I don't recall.

When I lived in the San Diego/Los Angeles corridor, there were a lot of cool groups on tour. Out here in High Desert Country, not so much. But DH doesn't like concerts anyway, so I'm glad I got in my share of them before he and I met.

High Desert? Would we have been somewhat neighborish during the 21 years I lived in Apple Valley?

I just saw Hall & Oates a few months ago. They're a really great band. Did you enjoy it at all?

First--Paul Revere and the Raiders at Lagoon in the sixties.

Last--Bette Midler at the Greek. Nothing like her. Ever. She did the Mermaids in Wheelchairs--her and the Harlettes-- for the first time I think that night and brought the house down.

I hit a point where I just couldn't take the crowds anymore.

The first I went to was Jefferson Airplane at the Terrace Ballroom in Salt Lake City sometime in the late 60’s. The memorable thing about that concert was that someone had printed and sold about 3000 counterfeit tickets and they just kept packin em in. We were stuffed in there like vertical sardines until everyone started sitting down from front to back like in a big wave. It was a dangerous situation but the show went on. The air was strong with the drug of choice and except for getting squished by the people in front of you becoming the people in your lap, we had a lot of fun.

The best concert I ever went to was Buffalo Springfield at the Fair Grounds. That group had so many future stars in it, I can’t remember them all. I know the members of that group became members of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and the Byrds and others I can’t reemember. Such great talent.

The last concert I went to, and probably my last....was The Rolling Stones at Rice Stadium at the U of U. I’m afraid concerts are getting old, I don’t enjoy them like I did. I guess it’s me that’s old, but I swear they’re not as good as they used to be.

Saw them...yes...heard them, not so much. All those screaming girls were close to being louder than the band.

Yeah, hard to hear.

1st - Paul McCartney and Wings, 1976, Wings Over America Tour, Kingdome, Seattle, WA. You can buy the DVD "Rock Show" which is the film of the concert I went to.

Last- Tribute to David Bowie with the Portland Symphony. Sister in-law and her hubby took my wife and I. It was OK.

My first was probably a symphony since we had Young People's concerts for school kids by the then Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra.

Last was a Broadway Songbook series concert.

First Rock was Three Dog Night

I had a neighbor who always took a bunch of us places and she took us to see the Osmond Brothers when I was in jr. high. I didn't enjoy it. It just sounded fun to go.

Last concert was Billy Joel last November. He is one of my favorites and have seen him several times.

First was Grand Funk Railroad probably around 1972 at Big Surf in Tempe. Most recent,,, last two. The Suicide Kings at Last Exit in Phoenix, and Dan Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound Revue at The Van Buren in Phoenix.

I've seen a bunch of the biggies, and yeah, Bette is a blast. Love that girl. Will see Neko Case (again) at The Greek in June.

Depeche Mode's devotional was my favorite that I've been of theirs. Funny thing is that occurred when I should have been on a mission, I'm so glad I didn't go.

My first concert as a young teen was Sly and the Family Stone. My first concert at college was the newer iteration of Fleetwood Mac with Stevie Nicks, Lindsay Buckingham, et.al. Genesis opened. Great fun!

Last concert seen -- probably a military band. They give a lot of free concerts around these parts, and have sub-groups that specialize in various genres -- rock, jazz, etc. Very competent musicians and vocalists. :)

Some of my favorite concerts over the years: The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Eagles, Crosby, Stills & Nash (unreal harmonies,) Neil Young, and Santana at Denver's Red Rocks. I was a Dan Fogelberg fan and enjoyed a few of his shows.
I know I am probably forgetting a few of them!

And beautiful on top of that.

I love Dan Fogelberg, too. Never got to see him in concert. I had tickets once and he cancelled the concert.

First was Helen Reddy and Mac Davis. The last was Ringo Starr and the Allstar Band or Paul McCartney. Not sure which was last.

1st concert - Sha Na Na (1974 Santa Monica Civic Auditorium)

Last concert - Pat Benatar, a couple years ago at an Indian casino.

Had tickets to see Tom Jones in Palm Springs last September but he had to cancel his U.S. tour due to illness.

I'm leaving in a few minutes to drive a couple hours to see the Broadway show "Rain", if that counts for anything.

First one was the California surf band "The Ripcords" in 1964 and I saw Canadian blues legend and guitar god Colin James 2 weeks ago.

First: Three dog night with the doobie brothers
Last: Rush they put on an incredible show

I've always wanted to see Rush, but my wife would never go for it. I did manage to get her to see Queensrÿche with me several times though. Go figure.

First: Neil Diamond. Fantabulous! Jumpsuit open to his navel.

I wish I could see The Eagles, this time around especially, since Vince Gill is playing guitar with them and touring this year.

I've always loved his work and he's a terrific player.

My first (not concert) was Phyllis Diller at the Valley Music Hall in Bountiful in 1966, I think. I went with a girl from school, Nancy P.

We had been in school togther since 7th grade, and I would have never remembered that we'd gone together except she was at our 50th reunion last summer and we had a very nice chat. She and her husband had just returned from him being mission president somewhere. She reminded me that we'd been friends all those years but only went on one date, and proceeded to tell me what it was. She reminded me that she asked me to the show.

I mention it because the first popular band I'd seen opened for Ms. Diller, and Nancy reminded me their name was The Sandpipers.

First concert would have been an Osmond concert when I was in my early teens.

Last concert was going to see a Sheila Witkin Memorial Concert in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I am very slightly acquainted with Johnny Depp and Sheila was the mother of Bruce Witkin, one of his best friends and a member of Johnny's band from when he was a teen.

There were a lot of bands playing that night, but the final band to perform was Johnny's band 'The Kids.' They were quite popular locally back in the day. They were good.

First was Oingo Boingo in the old Salt Palace, last was OMD just last month

I refuse to listen to Cat Stevens after he came out in favor of the fatwa issued against Salman Rushdie for "The Satanic Verses".

However, if we can put together a dream bill, I'd go with ELP, Yes and Queensryche on the same bill. Of course, ELP is missing Emerson and Lake now and Chris Squire of Yes has also passed.

You should be put on the no-fly list just for saying that !

Seeing my cousin Olivia Newton-John perform near my home a couple of years ago was my last. That was right before she had a recurrence of breast cancer.

She has a new concert tour lined up. So she's back. :)

First concert: Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band at the Royal Albert Hall in 1971 (with my brother and father - I was 11). Very exciting, terrible sound problems as they hadn't yet corrected the acoustics of the Hall).

Most recent concert: a Tribute to Pip Pyle (a rock/jazz drummer well known in Europe in the 70s who became a personal friend before dying in 2006) by the Patrice Meyer Group. A fantastic evening of rock, jazz and jazz-rock led by a master guitarist.

Foo Fighters at BlizzCon 2011 (insanely awesome) and Joanna Newsom at The Depot in SLC a couple years ago, also insanely awesome, but in an erudite elven harp playing kind of way. She is my daydream muse.

First concert was Rick Springfield somewhere around 1982 or 83. I was about 13. Maybe 12. Not sure exactly. There have been literally hundreds of concerts since then, but the last was a week and a half ago. I saw George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Morris Day and The Time, and Sheila E. it was great. I have tickets for another show at the end of the month: Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Clutch, Billy Idol, and a few more...it's the last day of a 3-day music fest (I am skipping Ozzy and Godsmack).

First Concert: Blood, Sweat, and Tears (without David Clayton Thomas) at NAU around 1971.
Most Recent: Carole King and James Taylor at Madison Square Garden in 2012 (I think).
Next Concert: James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt in Phoenix this May.
Favorite Concert: The Eagles somewhere around 2005.
