Big Pharma is a public enemy although perhaps not #1.

Too much competition for that title.

When the medical nano-bots arrive, the practice of medicine will be doing research, setting bones and suturing wounds. Oh, wait, doctor-bots and nurse-bots will be able do those things!

Can I have a nano-bot that resembles the movie icon of my choosing? Life in skilled care gets so tiresome.

The recovery industry cartel has known this for years.

Concoct an incurable addiction “disease” and treat it (along with the whole family) forever.

Proper public healthcare and free enterprise are incompatible for exactly this reason. It is more profitable to treat patients than to cure them. Single payer National Health Insurance and National Health Care are the only answer. It will not happen until the public is educated enough to understand this.

The only way you will create incentive for every household to get and pay for private health insurance is to deny health services if you can’t pay. That will not happen. Doctors are bound to their Oath and those unable to pay will flood emergency rooms. This is why costs are so high....because the cost of free care is absorbed by other paying patients.

May other countries have successfully created health care systems that work. We are still working on it . It will not change for a long time in America, if ever. Until then, get good insurance and a good doc.

WHY are so many Americans resistant to the notion of national health care? Can't they see that it works in a lot of other counties?

Cheap and easy cures for chronic diseases and cancer are emerging in non-US markets first. Ultimately, the insurance companies will have to adopt them to stay in business.
