Our sexual feelings are the most powerful emotions we have. Does the leadership purposely use this leverage to trap people in Mormonism.

*sending young people on socially isolating missions during their most vulnerable periods of sexual awakening;

*insisting that there be no sexual activity outside wedlock and encouraging early, immature marriages;

*using confession and repentance to induce guilt and shame and subservience to the church;

*tying sex exclusively to the fundamental goals of the church - procreation and increasing membership;

Or have the hierarchy also inherited this mindset to the extent that they don't realize what the source of the power it is that they are wielding.

After all, the authorities - being businessmen and attorneys - do not have any academic grounding in the humanities, philosophy, psychology, or theology. So they may not even have necessary insight into their own motivations.

Of course they realize it. They know very well it's one of their best tools for maintaining members.

As LBJ famously said, grab 'em by the balls, and their hearts and minds will follow.

LDS Inc creates a wide river between the sexes and then claims they own all the boats, and it's going to cost you to get one. As long as you accept the premise, they got you.

It’s not just the leaders. My wife uses sex to control me.

And many members want the control of sex by leaders. For example, those who report their spouse for looking at porn.

Not every cult does this, of course, but it's worth including in your check list of attributes that define a cult. Some cults do it very overtly, the old Moonie (Unification) group. "Back in the day," when somebody had finally earned the privilege of matrimony (there were requirements to be earned), the supplicant would have an audience with Sun Myung Moon HisExaltedPontificalSelf. Moon would exercise his alleged gift of discernment and assign the supplicant a mate. Really!

The couple would have a chance to get to know each other, and they could refuse the match if they chose, but how would it look for you to deny the discernment of HisExaltedPontificalSelf, the "Lord of the Second Advent"?

Jim Jones likewise broke up and reassigned marriage partners (sound familiar?).

LDS uses the method of idealized standards, family expectations and culture to enforce their marriage policies. There is strong pressure to be married to be truly "templ'd," and you need to be "templ'd" to get married, which constitutes a nasty reciprocity of requirements.

almost Everything that Mormons do (or Don't do) is subject to being used as a Wedge in a relationship.

church attendance

temple/tithing/wearing garments

prestigious callings

Testimonies

word of wisdom

etc. etc. etc.

So Yeah, the GAs know about it ALL, and they're onboard.

But do you think the leadership who impose these standards exercise SELF-control themselves in sexual matters? Do you think they know what they are doing to their membership and therefore know it's manipulation and therefore don't feel a need themselves to abide by the same prohibitions?

That's a good question that, without hidden cameras, will probably never be answered.

Given the history of the duplicitous actions of mormon leaders, odds are they aren't -- in private -- anything like their squeaky-clean public image. But they've had a long, long time to learn how to keep such things from prying eyes. And hypocrisy in sexual matters is pretty much a given among religious leaders.

They probably feel like because they are doing so much "good" in the world they're entitled to a little slack.

Yes, I agree that the GA's absolutely know what they are doing--all of them, from JS and BY on.

No, Mormonism takes only a second-grade education. The leaders understand about sex and its powers; they didn't have to read any books to learn about this. Besides, they had the great examples of JS and BY and the polygamous prophets to follow.

I can't imagine anything more intrusive than having a holy cult garment with sacred markings, creating two layers between a couple making love. Now, that's a WEDGE!

It all starts when you're young. The church teaches young women to only marry a returned missionary, and teaches that all young men should all go on a mission. A lot of guys go on a mission, hate it and endure it for two years, just to become an RM who is only then worthy of a beautiful wife. Then when you do get married in the temple, it's not really like you're marrying eachother. It's more like you're both getting married to the church. By teaching sex negative things, the church controls everyone who has a sex drive. I always saw myself putting the woman I love first, and the church somewhere below that. I had to resign from the church and find a non-member to spend my life with to accomplish that.

Read how Peterson advised young masturbators to tie a hand to their bedframe.

Read how Packer rabidly ranted against masturbation.

The big mystery is why this organisation has not been pursued for (psychological) child abuse before now!

Oh yes, and then there was the matter of a certain Mr. Kimball and married couples being asked about what they did in bed orally.

These people have afflicted untold misery upon millions over decades.

Yes! Yes! and Yes! And what's more they get off on it. Perverts they are.

Nothing more powerful than the human sex drive and the MormonCult knows that if they are in charge of Mormon sex do's and don'ts r they are indeed in charge of the minions.
