This is modern day slavery. Looking at this with a more deprogrammed mind. Seen four of them today and i felt sympathy or empathy or sadness or whatever you want to call it. Training corporate kids to be in the morg forever.

Many of them will rebel and walk out later. Just as many Millennials left and had their names removed, many Generation Z's will get smart, learn the real history, and disappear from LDS-ism.

There seem to be a considerable % leaving before their time is up!

Actually, they don't seem to wear suits, these days, more business casual.

I saw two who were wearing smart trousers, but not a suit jacket, when I saw them in the street. Unless they were rebels? Good for them, if that's the case!

Because my grandson is in the mission home (mission secretary) his P-day is today, Saturday. So every Saturday morning, I get the weekly email blast.

Today's lesson, delivered in wording that mimics a GC talk, was about salvation via the resurrection, available ONLY to members of the one, true church.

So after three paragraphs of lugubrious exhortations, comes this final one sentence: "On another note, I have lots of pictures, ENJOY!! Haha!"

And all the photos are of young men indulging in silliness, while wearing white shirts and ties!!!!!

I have high hopes that he will revert to pure silliness when he is released.

I have to admit, there's something different about this Millenial generation.
They seem to 'see through' all the BS, and are just not going to stand for it.
I think we are watching a very historic movement growing, and it's just getting more powerful every month.

The key in this conversation is that even though LDS members are 'told not to look' at outside information,
non-member Millenials have high credibility with LDS Millineals (IMHO). I think when non-member Millineals
point out certain questionable things about the Mormon church (i.e., LGBTQ, and the treatment of women),
the LDS Millenials will begin to listen... and then... they will 'go down the rabbit hole'.

I found out i was a millenial a few months ago and i was kind of embarrassed but now i don't think i am as much. I am at the older end of the millenials 1983.

I'm hoping the women no longer tolerate, and the men back them up.

If anybody could make a movement its the women. The men are too well controlled and don't want their organization to come to an end.

I think... the most accurate indicator is a missionaries Hair...

'Back In The Day', I was dictated to wear a (conservative) hat, suit, & decent shoes.

Any individuality was strictly verboten, our mission-model was a conservative Banker.

I think MP's now use a lot more discretion, esp. in places like the U.S. SW, other Hot Weather locations...

They looked like kids!
One went up the walk.
The other wrote digits.
Then joined him at the door.
They knocked.

Someone finally, and reluctantly answered. There were some certain (un-overheard) words and the door closed (I wish I could have heard what they were told).

They walked into the street, across the street from where I was standing, and said something to me. I said, "what did they say?" They seem surprised by my question, and not knowing how to respond, or responding normally/ naturally/ truthfully, said something like "nothing", rather than "we are members of a cult", they "hate Mormons" or "get out of here and never come back!".

They invited me to their meet eating house. Said they could give me a card. I said I knew where it was if I had an interest and that I'm waiting [don't bother!] for the (THERE IT COMES) bus.

Saved!

Both of us.

I was about to have to waste some time and they were about to get schooled. Instead they got to wave and say good buy.

Indentured servitude, actually, because it's temporary.

Well they walked like they were slaves out in the sun with dark suits on.
