http://www.ldsliving.com/How-an-Anti-Mormon-Became-a-Member-of-the-Church-He-Hated/s/86542?page=1#story-content

Have you ever heard about this guy? I came across this article as it was
shared across my Facebook feed by enthusiastic Mormons, who went crazy about this guy and his story.
I put myself trough this article and I cringed, it gave me literally a pain while reading it. It sounds so made up, so moronic Mormon, so only a tbm would buy this shice for real and however
a quick research doesn't bring up any results other than the article. Can anyone say something about this guy other than it is just made up Mormon Tale BS?

Okay, they got one back. It happens occasionally; the fact that ONE person returned caused so much hype and excitement shows just how rare it is. If it was a common occurrence, it wouldn't make such a splash.

The church really talked it up when one person joined after watching the BOM play. Later, when the convert decided she'd made a mistake and left, the church never said a word. What a surprise.

If Dusty decides he's had enough of getting ministering visits and cleaning the buildings, it will never be publicized and the TBMs will never know.

(from the article)
"...Dusty Smith couldn’t help but believe in God."

Well, there you go. The guy is uncritical in his beliefs.
So why should I care what he does or doesn't "believe?"

and yet he said that it made sense to him that Jesus came to America as the Book of MORmON had claimed, which was a strong point of attraction for him to join THE (MORmON) church. Ballard has told people to NOT rely on logic based indicators for validation of the Book of MORmON.

Yep.
This guy has bounced all over the religion spectrum. From the article, it seems he goes wherever he feels "good" at any point in time. And doesn't think critically about any of it, ever.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if he up and left mormonism again, 'cause something else made him feel oh-so-special.

The article says he posted on several "on-line discussion boards" about mormonism. Anybody know if he ever posted here?

"religious truth is always confirmed by what you feel, and that's the way that Heavenly Father answers prayers"

"religious truth is always confirmed by what you feel" ....unless a person ends up feeling or thinking that MORmONS and MORmONISM is kind of weird ....or really weird, and then a person is supposed to rely on the MORmON PR-of-it as he informs every one that MORmONS are NOT weird !!!!!!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xphnhNopWUo

.......MORmONISM may be "preposterous" ...... even though it is not weird, and people are supposed to believe in it anyway ....just as they are instructed !!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K88-oo4VZXg

Dusty is way too smart to actually believe the Mormon story. I think he re-joined in order to gain some advantage for himself. Remember that he is an attorney.

Saturday. You have to wonder why they left in the first place. I couldn't go back if God himself appeared to me and told me it was true.

I have listened to the story of the woman who wrote that book you saw in Costco. It's called: "Why I Left the Mormon Church and came back". She has an interesting history. She converted to the church as a teen, then went to BYU to find a husband. After 4 years, she graduated without having found her man. She left the LDS so she could find a non-LDS husband without guilt. She took porn pictures of herself and sent them to all kinds of men she'd met on social media, thinking that someone would admire her sexy body and thus marry her. She got no bites, but the guys lost no time placing her porn pics on the internet. Then she decided to go back to the church to try once again to find an LDS man. She moved somewhere and found a husband right away. He was willing to wait six months so she could repent and get a temple recommend. A miracle! She has a complex sexual history with different guys since joining the church, which she talks about on YouTube. She doesn't talk or act like a Mormon, but she got attracted to the "eternal marriage" thing. Personally, I think she is dippy and crazy. She coaches young women in the church to go ahead and wear skimpy bikinis and other clothes that don't meet Mormon standards, because the Mormon modesty code "isn't doctrine". She's so dizzy acting that I wonder if people in the normal range even join the Mormon church anymore.
