So they're admitting, then, that past "history of the church" publications *weren't* transparent, honest, or faithful? In other words, they've been lying all these years?
“We prefer not to call them lies, but rather ‘integrity-promoting associations,’ or IPAs. They are initially bitter to the taste, but when combined with the choicest faithful spologists, become like mother’s milk to the faithful.”

Right. Use tithing money to produce it. Funnel the profits through to the corporation (tax-free, of course). Follow the profit.
I will still give more credence to B.H.Roberet's comprehensive history of the church. He got in considerable trouble for some of the things he put in it. Hooray for him
The history is already out there. They are a little late to the party. Fawn Brodie has been dead how many years?
Releasing this supposedly transparent history of the church now has two purposes I would guess.
First, by publishing it they can then finally claim to be honest and open haha.
Second, this is an opportunity to put their "spin" on things. Every word, every phrase, will be calculated to show that "this is just the way the Lord does things. We don't know why. We just know we must accept His ways and follow faithfully even if we don't under stand. Even if it seems like very obvious B.S."
Oh. And four volumes. The lengthy tomes are so that none of the faithful could possibly want to read it or get through it if they even attempt to. Sort of like their other books.

I agree wholeheartedly... insomuch that there is nothing I could add that wouldn't be half bad. 'We're telling you the truth - THIS TIME - honest' Well done, & Done

The "New history of the church" will literally be the new history of the church. Mormons had better purchase these volumes and read up, to keep abreast of the changes.
