"As of early this morning, eruption of ash from the Overlook vent within Halemaumau crater at Kilauea Volcano's summit has generally increased in intensity.
Ash has been rising nearly continuously from the vent and drifting downwind to the southwest. Ashfall and vog (volcanic air pollution) has been reported in Pahala, about 18 miles downwind.
NWS radar and pilot reports indicate the top of the ash cloud is as high as 10,000 to 12,000 feet above sea level, but this may be expected to vary depending on the vigor of activity and wind conditions.
Ash emission from the Kilauea summit vent will likely be variable with periods of increased and decreased intensity depending on the occurrence of rockfalls into the vent and other changes within the vent.
At any time, activity may become more explosive, increasing the intensity of ash production and producing ballistic projectiles near the vent."

One of the glorious wonders of belonging to such a peculiarly clueful religion is that we get to do volunteer service in putting on yellow Helping Hands shirts and go around gathering names after natural disasters so we can submit them for temple work. Is it time for us to start gathering names? Maybe the people are just focused on worldly matters like having homes/food/medicine and staying away from lava/ash? Someday if we can get everyone assimilated into Mormonism then they'll just focus on the afterlife and remember 24/7 to be fully obedient to the super holy men that are called to be the middlemen over the Wards/Stakes to take on the sacred tasks of ministering and micromanaging our lives so we can be blessed.
More eruptions may follow. The plumes of ash has blown 30,000 feet into the sky, higher than Mt. Everest.
Is this the beginning of the new center of Hawaii? I kinda hope to see a new island start. That's probably thousands of years away though:(
