Per the church's official statement, "Together we invite all people, organizations, and governments to work with greater civility, eliminating prejudice of all kind".

I totally agree.

I went to the KSL comment board on the story, quoted the church's statement and wrote, "but what about eliminating prejudice against the LGBT community?"

Surprise! The comment wasn't posted. Nearly all of the comments that were posted were all about how great the church is.

Too bad KSL and the church don't understand that this type of censorship eliminates their legitimacy as journalists.

Haha. I don't think KSL has had any legitimacy to eliminate for a long, long, time. If ever.

And saying this:

"Together we invite all people, organizations, and governments to work with greater civility, eliminating prejudice of all kind".

Is there anything easier to say and emptier than those words coming from a Mormon? Typical PR blather to promote yourself, not to promote so called "civility." The Mormon church itself is the main reason there is need for more civility in the world.

Physician, heal thyself.

“Too bad KSL and the church don't understand that this type of censorship eliminates their legitimacy . . . .”

Yeah, I agree. KSL needs to follow a no censorship policy just like RfM.

RFM isn't news media. It doesn't claim to be impartial in its reporting.

And thank heaven. There are plenty of other sites where Mormons and anti-Mormons can blather back and forth.

Both KSL and the Deseret News are quasi-media outlets. All mormon, all the time. Hell, the biggest local media story yesterday was the hoax apology from Nelson. Other news sites reported the apology, then later reported the hoax. The D-News still hasn't mentioned it and probably won't. Both church owned outlets are designed to keep the sheep in their mormon bubbles.

So when will they rescind the "marry in your race" policy?
