I've just been thinking about this superb Jethro Tull album, which addresses many aspects of humanities troubled relationship with the existence of a supposed deity.

Lead singer and superb flautist Ian Anderson was right on the money with this album.

Anyone thinking of questioning the LDS philosophy and teachings would do well to listen to most of it; almost all of it is available on YouTube, so folks don't even have to go out and buy it (although I would also recommend they do!).

On a somewhat separate note, there is one track called "Hymn 43"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_LF9NFKPlo&list=RD1_LF9NFKPlo&t=11

It's opening lines are as follows:

"Oh, Father high in Heaven,
smile down upon your son,
who's busy with his monied games,
his women and his gun".

Now, mentioning no names at this juncture...

Not to continue the Off Topic-ness, but I must. Aqualung is still a favorite.

There's a live version that was recorded at SiriusXM with Ian Anderson explaining some of the background. It's well worth it if you can find it.

He says Aqualung wasn't a concept album, but was so triggered by the claims of the unknowing that it was, he decided to really DO a concept album...Thick As A Brick.

The title track and Locomotive Breath are my favorite tracks.

BTW, according to the set list for their Sirius show, it was Hummm 43.

I went to a Jethro Tull concert in Long Beach, CA I think in 1977 or 1978. Ian Anderson was OUTSTANDING!!

There was some speculation at the time that he was an ex-mo. Especially after his lyrics, "Well you can excomunicate me on my way to Sunday school, and have all the bishops harmonize these lines", from the song "Wind Up" on the Aqualung album.

That's weird I was just thinking of this song too about an hour ago for no explicable reason ... I wasn't listening to any music at the time.
