I am CONVINCED that this "Priesthood" scam is the core
of everything. The basic idea.

worthy male members may receive the Aaronic Priesthood beginning at age 12. These young men, typically ages 12–17, receive many opportunities to participate in sacred priesthood ordinances and give service. As they worthily fulfill their duties, they act in the name of the Lord to help others receive the blessings of the gospel.

Just think about it. Its this "System" of power/rewards
that somehow controls young kids. Its gotta be the biggest
CONJOB in organized religion.

This is so similar to the Nazi Youth. They were brainwashed
over and over and over and over. They were isolated. They
were programmed. They were told what to think. They were
told to NEVER oppose or NEVER question the authorities.

Its the "Craziest Thing"...Bill CLinton

my dad never put a lot of importance on the priesthood. I think he was irritated by the things like HT, etc., so I never grew up thinking much of the priesthood EXCEPT I felt bad for those little deacons passing the sacrament and the teachers collecting FO. And then the priests saying the prayer over the sacrament.

I come from a family of introverts and I am so glad I never had to do those things my brothers did.

BUT you are correct. I can't believe how many mormon men let the priesthood go to their heads as though they have some kind of special "power" and authority over everyone. Those are the worst kind of mormon men. I actually do know some who are not this way.

When I was oh-so-blessed to be ordained a deacon just after my 12th birthday, I was told the old mormon line, "You now have more power in your little finger than all the priests in the catholic church!"

Looking back, I think I at least sort of believed it. It made me feel so special. So worthy. So powerful. So much on the right path to magical powers and the yet-to-come "big" M priesthood.

But I guess the indoctrination didn't "take" on me. It wasn't long before I figured out that having the "priesthood" didn't actually mean squat. When I was ordained an Elder later on, with the big M priesthood, I was already convinced that it was a ritual reward for obedience, not some magical power.

For other people, though...it does what they intend it to do.

Yeah, as a non-Mo 12 year old, I experienced the M Priesthood with my right hand. There WAS more power there than in either the Catholic or Mormon Churches combined. Dutifully, I did honor and use the M at least several times a day. Then, the Morg came along and stripped me of it.

For the OP, the Aaronic Priesthood is a powerful enculturation device that gives the Morg full access to a young man’s life. It opens the door for worthiness interviews and GUILT. It also begins the process of denial and lying to appear to be perfect.

We certainly agree that the Big M priesthood stands for "masturbatory..." :)

I never saw the Aaronic priesthood as power and privilege. It was just a burden. Extra meetings, busy work, more men telling me what to do, etc. It wasn't special to be let into the club. They forced it on us.

The Mormon cult is a scam, obviously. Why can't they just die out quickly? They make me so furious!

"The prophet of the nineteenth century; or, The rise, progress, and present state of the Mormons, or Latter-day Saints: to which is appended, an Analysis of the Book of Mormon," by Henry Caswall (1843)

"Another cause is, that it contains much that is
congenial to almost every shade of erratic religious
character*. The lofty pretensions of the priest-
hood, with its high sounding titles, attract the
aspiring, and the attraction is increased by the
knowledge that, without previous study, or the
slightest scholastic preparation, a blacksmith or a
bricklayer may shine forth as a bishop or an
apostle. For the superstitious lover of the mar-
vellous, there are miracles, ecstasies, visions, and
revelations; astonishing legends respecting the
early inhabitants of America, and wonderful re-
cords, describing Christ as preaching in that con-
tinent after his resurrection. For the enthu-
siastic interpreter of prophecy, there are provided
a millennium, a new Jerusalem on earth, an actual
reign of the saints, and, finally, a state of equality
with the Redeemer."

John Willard Young was ordained an apostle at age 11 by his Father Brigham Young.
