Sometimes it takes that long for people to get to the point where they can muster the courage to walk out of the delusion of the massive CogDis/PTSD caused by being raped by their own Father and havimg the church they loved cover for the bastatd. I assign zero blame to victims.

Yes I agree with korihore. For most of my life I thought everything was my fault and that god was against me. It's a powerful operation to go against especially if you think it may actually be God's religion, I went through brutal things like physical and verbal abuse but not sexual thank god. I'm still pretty messed up when it comes to love and sex though. It's hard as hell at any age to finally go to a non-lds professional for real help.

I didn't talk about my abuse to a professional for like 19 years. It's a powerful religion to go against as a child.
Perhaps she gained courage to come forward from the "me too" movement. I see it as a healthy thing. It curbs this kind of thing from happening as people never know when their dark deeds will be exposed from the house tops. I would like to know why the Stake President and other church leaders protected the guy rather than turn it over to law enforcement.
I share your thoughts about #MeToo. That movement is so strong that it even washes up against the bastions of LDS power.
On the cover-up, anyone who is in a public position is protected by the church--or at least was protected by the church. If it happened decades ago, the girls would have been told to forgive and forget.
