I haven't because my wife thinks it will invalidate her marriage to me.

My elder brother who was the perfect elder brother for me to be the prodigal is now officially (from the church's perspective) the 1 and I'm still the 99.

I take no comfort in this and I am tinkled pink that he is officially out of that Lehi's Nightmare.

Congratulations to your brother. May you have the same opportunity some day.

I wish you could resign.

I'm not divorced, but I guess I'm temple divorced. ha ha ha

I've said before, even my nonmo boyfriend tried to talk me out of resigning as I said I'd never do it.

I've never once regretted it. It was one of the best things I've done for myself.

Me too. My brother used the site from the lawyer doing pro bono resignations. It is a good option if it really keeps no contact. When and if I resign I could tell my wife and not risk the embarrassment of the bishop wanting to talk to her.

Yep. Funny how resignation makes it all invalid.

Good for you!

So, he obviously knows how you feel about his exit. Nice to have the support of each other.

For over a decade I had no one in my family to talk about leaving the church. Since 2014 it has been great.

I lived in Canada for several years, and within easy driving range for several decades. I quite enjoyed it, and consider myself part Canadian in all but official paperwork.

I tossed my resignation in the mail on July 1 (Canada Day), knowing it would probably reach SLC on July 3, the closest I could get to having it delivered on July 4. I did it then specifically because of the two national "independence" days. I'm not above indulging in a little symbolism.

[I know Canada Day is not the same sort of commemoration as US Independence Day, but it is pretty close. Close enough for my purposes that day, which were totally personal and symbolic]

Congrats to your brother

"Lehi's Nightmare"

Now I know what name was painted on the stern of the ship Nephi built. It was always the favorite old boat around the Zarahemla Yacht Club.

One of the best things you can do for your children, too!

I hope your brother's family is out, along with him.

I think his resigning makes him a BETTER person, and even more perfect!
