I'm passing through Barnes and Noble on lunch and in walks the Loveland Zone missionaries. All 6-8 of them in white shirts and ties. The all head for the magazine section and proceed to browse through Maxim, Easy Rider, and other "questionable" magazines that are off-limits to most LDS men. I observed them look around to see if anyone is watching and then grab the magazine off the rack, place it inside of another magazine such as Newsweek or Life, and find a place to sit down and read. Luckily nobody is spanking it yet.

I'm glad to see that although they are on missions that they can still enjoy the finer things in life.

What a way to spend your P-Day.

Kind of like the time I sneaked behind our Zone Leader (former AP, considered best missionary in mission) to discover him browsing Internet porn, rubbing himself, in public. Boy was he embarrassed. I didn't say anything.

Or the time I saw my companion checking out the playboys, of course in public.

Or the time I saw a fellow district mish making out with his girlfriend (a recent convert). His companion was asleep, we were out very late due to a car problem and walked to their flat to use the phone. I did say something about that. Nothing happened.

Or the time we dropped in after midnight on a set of companions (I was with the Zone Leader) late one night. A recent convert (an attractive 20 yo) was living next door (surprise to us!). She was folding one of the missionaries underwear, which she had just washed for her "sweetie." He went home 2 months early, but the missionaries weren't moved. The girl stayed as well, and we heard about other visits.

Or the time... Ahh forget it. These stories go on and on.

Take young men, segregate them off from the opposite sex for years, and see what happens. It took me 4 months after being home before I felt comfortable talking to a girl. It took another year before I felt I could be intimate (on an emotional level) with one. I was delusionaly thinking that every 'feeling' I had for a girl must be lustful, and therefore originating from Satan. Thank you Mormonism!

wow, it's funny & sad too! sad to think that according to the asinine mission rules they aren't even allowed to read Newsweek or Life!

in my mission when an elder in my district snuch out at 1:00am to meet his girlfriend in the back of the local school. Apparently the paper donation dumpster offered a warm place to cuddle..lol. The problem was that she was married to the EQ president of the ward. Or the time that some mishes were caught hot-tubbing in the church baptismal font with two local girls (i.e. in the nude). The RS president who caught them still can't get the "evil" images out of her mind, even with multiple penishood blessings. Or the time that I found a collection nudy pic's in my comps triple combination, tucked away nicely in the back next to the Pearl of Great Price.

Did Joseph Smith and Brigham Young restrain their sexual appetites in the same way that are asking these 19 year young men to do?
