First, I just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for all of the responses to my family drama venting. You gave me so much amazing feedback and kind replies....I was overwhelmed with how supportive you were. I’ve been a lurker on this board for a while and I just love how great the community is.

Anyway, I took your advice and called my dad last night. He sounded pretty shocked to hear from me, but we talked for almost two hours and really reconnected...it was such a good experience. I could barely keep it together. He wasn’t upset with me at all and just wanted to talk about everything...religion, my life, other family, etc.

I’m thinking about flying out to NYC at the end of September to visit. So excited.

Outstanding! I'm so glad for you. Definitely visit if you are able. The end of September through October is a great time to be in NYC. If you don't have the money to fly out, consider asking your dad for a plane ticket. I'm sure if there is any way that he can swing it, he will.

Ella, being a dad, I think I'm safe in saying that no matter how happy you are, your dad is happier. By calling you made his day. No, week. No...life.
