I have to agree with you in part. I still feel a little sorry for them -- he shouldn't have done that and they should have been more cautious. That said, mormons are always ripe for these scams because of their underlying greed.

Just to make you aware of who this guy is, he is/was an apologist and curriculum writer for the church. Of course, we know the major qualification for a lot of apologists is dishonesty.
