I am a glutton for being bored to death and was watching a church public communications training from 1987. Elder Haight had just talked about the use of the "correct perspective" when he started going off about the CBS Sunday Morning program with Charles Kuralt. Haight said that the program caught their attention with the use of erroneous and harmful information and that the church was angry enough to contact the president of CBS.
The air date was Jan 11 1987 and I am guessing that it was a story and or comments about Mark Hoffman because on-line states that he plead guilty on Jan 7th.
Anybody know what information made the leaders so angry?
Aren't the leaders supposed to be studying the scriptures on Sunday mornings instead of relaxing with a cup of coffee listening to Charles? lol
The actual broadcast shows a clip from the show. I am willing to bet that the church didn't pay CBS for the rights to show it as part of their training video.
