This morning on Wikipedia, this appears on Carol Lynn Pearson's entry:

Carol Lynn Wright Pearson (born September 27, 1939, died August 1, 2018)

Unless I missed something (which is very possible) this is false information.

I don't know how to change Wikipedia or report to someone who could change it, but I do know all kind of false stuff gets posted there.

Was CLP a doubter or objector?

the wiki article appears to be unbiased & informative.

Perhaps someone with a more personal connection will contribute.

She's an author of mostly LDS (is that right) related books and some plays. Lots of members love everything she does, lots of them don't because she supports and has several gay people in her family.

I just think someone has gone into Wikipedia and put that she died in August and I'm not able to find an obituary anywhere.

But now, I'm going to go do something constructive, like maybe wash my car!

I'm friends with her on FB. She is alive and well.

I follow her on FB. She posted as recently as 9/3/18.

She's a very progressive church member, highly critical of certain policies, or "revelations".

I always enjoy her perspective on politics and church issues.

Not necessarily regarding CLP, but isn't the best information gained by asking an individual their opinion about Joey?

Has CLP opined on JS?

Dunno her opinion on Joey, but she has written a book on polygamy.

She is against it.

She thinks the LDS Church should be against it.

As in 100 percent against it. As in delete Section 132 from the D&C.

She has written a book explaining her position. I forget the title but I think the word "ghost" is in there. The ghost of polygamy or something like that.

She knows her opinion carries a great deal of weight, and she knows that they don't dare ex her because she is well known and well loved.

I think she is on a crusade to redeem the LDS church.

Good luck with that.

Lois

Anyone can edit a wikipedia page. You just need to create an account then "contribute" information

Which I've done. I was trying to figure it out.

I worked with a guy in Las Vegas who loved to do fake edits on both NFL and college football teams and since I could care less about either one, I didn't pay attention to what he did.

I know he'd spend hours on a weekend adding phony stuff.

'very progressive church member' + criticized polyg, (protect children = unk) = candidate for ex-communication.

If she calls out anyone in leadership, > Done Deal.

btw, I'm not suggesting or indicating that she 'should' call out anyone.

she held a celebration party for her daughter when she exited mormonism.

I tend to believe--and that is just believe--that she feels she has more influence by staying in than by getting out. She has and continues to do a lot of good for the gay community and for the ex-spouses of gays. Her book "Good-Bye, I Love You," helped me SO MUCH. I finally knew of someone who was in the same predicament I found myself in.
