I have what I consider is an unreasonable aversion to "ejaculate" (noun).

I don't want to think about it or see it. To have it get on me would cause me to freak out. It is about the same level of revulsion as sputum or vomit.

Any thoughts?

Not sure what the problem is. Be proud. Don't think about it or see it. If someone isn't a fan of your personal feelings on the matter, they shouldn't matter to much in your personal feelings.

MB... what the...???

The OP is stating that ejaculate makes him/her gag and vomit. If the OP is in an intimate encounter and starts gagging/vomiting that would be a real turn off to their partner - a real problem in retaining an intimate relationship! How can he/she be proud of that?

There's ways around it. Not every sexual encounter requires seeing or feeling it. A caring sexual partner would recognize and compromise with adequate communication don't you think?

You're right, maybe proud is the wrong word. But I also wouldn't be ashamed of it.

If the OP is ashamed and wants to get over it, great. There are probably resources to help. If not, then communication will go a long way with current/future partners.

Gee, could it possibly be that religious training starting at an
early age that sex is evil, or that masturbation is a "sin next
to murder" have anything to do with it? Just wondering.

It might just be a matter of practice. You should probably read up on Desensitization: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desensitization_(psychology)

I'm assuming you're female, because we guys are used to the stuff.

If you ever plan on having children, there's going to be no getting around contact with it. Other than that, condoms should mitigate the issue.

Jonathan Haidt's work/discussion on disgust might also give some insight.

Many feel the same way without any experience with religion.

While researching, I came across this forum and many women discussing their disgust for sex and body fluids. Interesting reading.

https://forums.webmd.com/3/sex-and-relationships-exchange/forum/9407?pg=1

One woman said:
"Sex has never been important to me and having a man inside me really grosses me out. I can't stand semen (the smell, look, or consistency on my skin) I could never just fall asleep without a shower. I don't feel like theres anything wrong with me for not liking sex., Its been the same with every guy. I love spending time, sharing like activities but I've never enjoyed sex."

One woman's solution was that the only sex they ever had was to conceive their 3 children. She did allow her husband to do porn and masturbation though.

I'll be honest. I was never LDS, but I kind of feel the same way. I used to be really skeeved out about ejaculate. I was 30 when I finally lost my virginity to my husband, two weeks after our wedding day. And I do remember being freaked out about what it would feel like. You're not alone.

My husband was very understanding about it and even offered to wear condoms. In the end, I just kind of got over it... for the most part, anyway. It did take practice and desensitization. I was lucky to have a very kind, mature, and patient partner. Hopefully, you are just as lucky.

Humus, nor to be confused with hummus. Adding humus to the soil is like ... gross!

I was hoping you would chime in "Boner" because assume you are an expert in this department, "HUMUS", wtf are you talking about? This poster needs boner advice in the worst way, and you are talking about humus and gardening? Boner, listen man, what can be done? Retro-aversion therapy? Shock treatment? What? C'mon Boner.

JK OP. I am sorry. Honestly, if you are a woman, make them wear a condom, and don't look at it. If you are a man, follow Boner's advice and become a gardener.
