I just think the full story (sandbags, multiple burials and moves) is quite interesting -- and typically wacky mormonism. No special ed assumptions involved :)

Wasn't his body moved to an undisclosed place so vandals couldn't rob his grave? I heard Emma had that done, secretly of course.

My never Mo Masonic grandpa was buried in his final resting place with a pack of cigarettes and a book of matches tucked inside his suit jacket, in Utah. He detested Mormons with a passion. Wouldn't speak to my mom for fourteen years after she converted, until on his deathbed when he had a change of heart. Masonics in Utah refused to allow Mormons admission to the Masonics until several years after grandpa's passing. I can only imagine how much influence he had into that policy while he was alive?!

IIRC, Joseph was dipped in gold leaf like the Moroni statues and placed in the Holy of Holies to be worshipped. :)

It was moved a couple of times. The last time his skeleton was examined (wasn't he supposed to be resurrected already) and his severe dental occlusion was noted.

Don't remember reading anything about his missing leg bone.
