I went to 4H camp at Bucks Lake CA in the mid 70s. They woke us up each morning playing Gimme That Thing full blast on the loudspeakers. I still love that lake for the memories and check their very unexciting webcam occasionally because it looks like the view from our cabins.
Small world, isn't it? We had tents, no cabins. I remember there were boys across the lake that rowed over to meet up with some girls. One of the girls ended up passed out for some reason.
I also remember one year some of us stealing a watermelon and soda from the creek where they were being kept cool.
Oh, and early morning testimony meeting on the last day. Lots of tear, and I love you's, and such stuff.
Oh God, I know this song. It was still sung when I went to Girl's Camp (my last year was 2007). I feel like the lyrics might have been a little different, but I can't remember more than the first couple lines tbh.
