Much hoopla has been made of TSCC's brand new Chicago meetinghouse just north of the Loop. However, this move may have been at the expense of the Logan Square Ward, which was just discontinued, and whose meetinghouse now only contains one Spanish speaking ward. Is the new building an illusion of Chicago growth? Not surprisingly it appears so.
Such a shame when a historic landmark building gives way to urban growth. It may not be that the cult itself is growing, just morphing into other neighborhoods, and leaving the former behind.
That’s gotta be traumatic when your ward gets shut down; of course he’s gonna look for a scapegoat other than the organization that can’t keep people engaged.
Historic as in really, really old? Read the above article that explains it. This ward was one of the longest in continued existence of any east of the Mississippi.
