Personally, I think they are very wasteful of time (required for cleanup) and resources (valuable food).

But God seems to endorse food fights in the Old Testament or at least use them as part of his great plan.

Zechariah 5:

"1. Then I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a flying roll.

"2. And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits."
-----

I'm wondering whether flying rolls will be part of the continuing restoration work promised by President Nelson and, if so, whether they will be soft dinner rolls or hard rolls, like Kaiser rolls. If the latter, will safety precautions be taken or will fatal collisions with flying rolls be regarded as part of God's great plan to separate the good from the bad?

Will they be buttered and will they land gently on special days of Thanksgiving or will they be instruments of destruction?

Given the size of the flying rolls, I don't think that these are trivial or unimportant questions.

Down here in the south, we have a restaurant called Lamberts "The Home of the Throwed Roll"

Yes, that's how they serve the rolls.

I loved reading that. Thanks for the link. OMG. Is it wrong to be laughing? Not at the victim of course. Who knew Roll Throwing was a thing. Of course it would be Wally that brought this up.

Love Lamberts. I've been hit before. Better than sacrament.

Is it the missionary position ?

I was always taught that the missionary position was one of the worst positions for a missionary to be found in.

I couldn't handle the irony of a missionary being excommunicated for being in the position of a missionary...and that led to my apostasy.

When I shop for cans of Whipping Cream, my first priority is DISTANCE, not taste...

A restaurant at Mt. Carmel Junction Utah specializes in "Ho-Made Pies". I suppose it would cost extra to have the Ho throw the pie.

Come on. You have to post the story. It might be a short story entry? Paul Dunn it a bit.

Okay, in the spirit of Elder Dunn. Did you see the cook who was baking the pies? 'Twas I.

Ask the next question and I'll hunt you down and ruin your day.

All I know is that the times I have been at the Thunderbird, the staff looked classy and well behaved. Beyond that I have no information.

I only met Dunn once. It was a few years after he was disgraced and he didn't look classy.

That brings to mind images of the post-excommunication George P. Lee.

that he needed to take a hoe out to the garden and spend some time hoeing in the garden.

Three hours later, my mom went out to check on him and he was making out hot and heavy in the garden with the notorious floozy who lived a few houses down from our home. Turned out she expected my mom to pay her for working with my brother in the garden.

Relative to anything /any activity, NOT just food fights

Is it some form of drudgery, where real fun is avoided ?

Is it faith promoting ?

Is there any angle for LD$ Inc to glean some cash off of the activity ?

Remember, two strikes ( "no" replies) and that means that LD$ Inc does NOT like or approve of the activity

......now you can see why LD$ inc LOVE LOVE LOVES their (STUPID) temple worship !!!!!

There’s a restaurant in San Antonio, on the river walk, called “ Dick’s last resort “. My husband went there when he was on temporary duty there at Lackland AFB. The people working there were very rude and insulting. They used foul language, made foul gestures, and threw rolls and other food at the patrons.
He got upset and left. He had his Air Force uniform on too. He found out later that that was the theme of the restaurant, to be rude and insulting to the customers and to throw food.
I think they have locations in other areas now
They should be careful. They can really do harm telling people that they’re gay, old, ugly, whatever the case may be.
Then throwing food on top of that

I know my dogs would have loved that scripture. Flying food was the highlight of their day, the agility and skill in grabbing food midair is quite a talent to be proud of, especially in the canine society, :^)

Mormons don´t fight over food.
They do it over the ¨blessing¨.

Bless others by fighting with them.
Abusing food and ignoring the feast.

Throwing sneers, jeers, and insults.
While the food of life rots on the vine.

Missing the ritual, seasonal gatherings.
Substituting ´special´ superstitious serenades.

Losing out on free-agency and spontaneity.
Budgeting choice, voice, virtue, and vice.

Crowding out real, natural, curious conversation.
Allowing for no purposeful, fun, food foo fighters.
