I can imagine there are many Mormons who would lie to a bishop and stake president as easily as to a temple worker. So why make them go through two interviews just to get into their temple?

If they want people to come to their temple, just ask them if they are worthy and let them in.

"We want people to come to the temple. They just need to be worthy to do so in order to make the experience worthwhile."
https://www.quora.com/profile/Toby-Dillon from
https://www.quora.com/Are-there-bouncers-at-Latter-day-Saint-Mormon-temples

I don't understand the above quote but I get his sentiment. I was worthy according to Mormon standards and unworthy according to Mormon standards in my temple attendance time. Honestly passing their interviews didn't help "to make the experience worthwhile."

And then there is the amount of benevolent delusion some members have for this whole interview, membership card, hassle to enter a temple this Mormon has. If they just asked you if you were worthy you wouldn't need this kind of mental gymnastics. And it wouldn't change anything with no interviews and no membership cards.

"If someone were to trespass and barge in past us, I and my fellow temple workers are specifically instructed not to pursue the offending trespasser, but rather to simply notify temple security immediately.
They will then handle the situation as appropriate based on our description of the intruder - but in no case can I imagine that the offender would be dealt with using physical force. Far more powerful is what our scripture refers to as the power of the priesthood:
“No power or influence can or ought to be maintained by virtue of the priesthood, only by persuasion, by long-suffering, by gentleness and meekness, and by love unfeigned;
By kindness, and pure knowledge, which shall greatly enlarge the soul without hypocrisy, and without guile—Reproving betimes with sharpness, when moved upon by the Holy Ghost; and then showing forth afterwards an increase of love toward him whom thou hast reproved, lest he esteem thee to be his enemy…”
Those would be the guidelines for security and temple authorities in handling an intruding trespasser.
So referring to us “bouncers” is off-base at best and even perhaps wildly inappropriate."

Mormon security doesn't have the greatest reputation.

Does he really have his own jet and more than one home or is that a myth?

One of the questions is "are you honest with your fellow men" of course the same requirement or transparency isn't expected of the church in regards to releasing their financials.

so a good response would be I'm as honest as the church is honest with the members.

Exactly. Putting a member in a position to question their own reasoning in answering these questions according to another member's ever-changing and arbitrary assessment of their own PERSONAL "worthiness" is not only ridiculous but akin to confessing using torture. Not only NOT reliable but just plainly the wrong approach.

IF a bishop had "discernment" it would have to be something a temple worker would have to have as well if their god truly cared about the spiritual sanctity of their temple.

Good one. Also someone who lied on the interview isn't going to admit it. "Oh I guess I'm not honest. My bad!"

So it's OK to lie to women and children then?

They don't simply ask if you're worthy because that would deprive the asker (bishop, SP) of the pleasure of making you squirm with guilt, and getting all the juicy stories of your occasional porn watching, masturbating, or sip of coffee to share at ward council. Such things are the fuel on which wards thrive.

Yeah, it is an old boys club. If you are honest in your interview they will tell you to read, pray, ask God for forgiveness and here's another calling for you. No one in their ward counsels will know how unworthy you are.

MORmONISM is a game. It is a faithFOOLness dog and pony show derby, every week at the MORmON meeting house.

Eliminating all the other questions to ask just one question to get a TR to go to the MORmON temple takes away from the structure of the MORmON game, a (SICK) game of gaining external approval that MORmONS love and relish !!!!

It would be like having one roll of the dice to determine the winner at monopoly.

....asking questions like yours means that you probably will not make it as a good MORmON

Why don't they prove to you that their temple is worthy of you entering it?

Don't give up your power.

I've never found a reason for the two interviews for a Temple Recommend. What is the point? What do they care about all those questions when the only thing they want is your tithing?
Never made any sense to me.
I know now that I never again have any need to give anyone authority over my rights. Religion is of no use to me. The leaders want too much for so little.
I'll never be drug around like that again!

What would happen to tithing revenue?

Also: Do bishops ordinarily view tithing records for each member as they interview?...

'It says here on your report, brother & sister X, that....'

The Mormons aren't really concerned about "worthiness".

It's a shake-down to force the members to pay tithing.

Whenever we ask "Why..." about the Mormon church, the answer is usually: "MONEY."

"It's a shake-down to force the members to pay tithing."

This is sort of true in my opinion.

http://upwardthought.blogspot.com/2013/11/a-history-of-temple-recommend-interview.html

In the above link, you can see how leaders saw it.

I think this post is more accurate.

"Re: Why don't they just ask you if you are worthy to enter their temple?

Because they would lose control, control, control!!!"

It is the only answer that makes sense to me because if were about worthiness it could be declared when entering the temple. The link above show a cult in action attempting to modify behavior using their temple ("higher ordinances".)

It is Mormonism´s TSA (Temple Secret Answers).

They tried to give me a Temple ¨Test¨ in primarry.
I didn´t let them pass - didn´t want a calling.
Or to grow a foot or two [I already had two].
So I walked...

You Are BORN Worthy.
It´s Mormonism´s defilement that makes one unworthy.

Which would you prefer? Catholicism where you are born unworthy and confess to counter that or Mormonism where you are born worthy until age 8 whereupon you are required to prove your worthiness for the rest of your life?

They are one in the same thing. The Catho-licks say Confess! Only Catholics learn after a while. Mormons never learn. They both lie, just in different ways.

The mormonites feel BAD, which makes tscc feel GOOD! It means MORE MANipulation. More BS$%^#!$&%! ^!$#
Life itself is a two way street... but Mormonism is a dead end road. Leading to nowhere, but in circles-squares, actually.

I don't wan't to compare the two groups but!, AT SOME POINT in mormobidism, you HAVE TO take-assert control of your life, personality, needs, wants, "free-agency", time-space, creativity, desires, life, whatever it may be called, or you'll wither away, with your hands on the dor nori ['iron rod' in the mirror] under a fruitless tree, near a deep and dark secret river, or in an exclusive building, doing useless things for nobody, but the dead and lifeless, doing idol worship, and present, to yourself and the world, lame excuses for the slow-track to self-realization/ actualization, common-good, liberty, or even (real) Christianity, future - and present - happiness, peace, and purpose.

The Mormon 'church' is DESIGNED to MAKE YOU FEEL BAD (especially inside [mormonism]-yourself),
GUILTY, and SICK, so you might think it rescued you, made you feel better, or more hopeful.

SO, rather than go to God, you will go to it, like a baby to it's mother. Mormonism wants you to be attached/ DEPENDENT on it.

We can ONLY depend on someone/ something if it is honest/ dependable. NOT threatening, suffering, bewildering.

Mormons are mislead to forget the sanctity of home-hearth-customs-beliefs...
And to believe the LDS Temple is more sacred than the home. SO mislead

They are taught to consider their homes as their personal temples. How creepy is that?

My friend's mother remarried a man of means when I was a teenager and redecorated her house. She made her living room a Celestial Room and that is what we called it.

So much crap requires people to value inane ritual over hearth-warming hominess.

Mormonism claims that today's temples mirror the one in Jerusalem. No worthiness interview was held then and their whole purpose was for unworthy people to sacrifice to appease God in an effort to be seen as worthy.
