When I lived in Las Vegas, this guy would show up on the news, talking about his business and throwing parties with Heidi Fliess.

So a person can die and still be elected to office?

Guess it was too late to replace his name on ballot, so they appoint his replacement. How convenient.

This is wrong. Major league wrong. The second place vote getter should take the office. They paid for a campaign and actually ran for the office. A dead person can not assume office and the Governor or others saying they should be able to Appoint the replacement is wrong. The voters cast ballots for a candidate. If that candidate is dead before Election day - even with vote by mail/absentee ballots getting bigger each year - the live vote winner should take the office.

If the candidate dies after winning then a replacement is appointed. For fairness I believe the Second place vote getter should be offered the job first. They actually ran for the office. But the system is to "protect the party", not give the people a legislator who actually ran for the office.

A notice posted at Polling places telling all "This Candidate has died and cannot take office so any vote for them will be wasted - as only votes for living candidates will count" would be easy to do.

A newspaper article on the matter said that "County officials will appoint a Republican to take Hof's place in the State Assembly."

I'm not that interested is researching Nevada constitution, laws, rules, etc., to determine what should happen.

I can wait a few days and see the final decision someone makes.

Your life has hit the high point when a porn star finds your dead body.
