Get ready for it folks <<<cringe>>>, the G-rated depiction of two vastly different cultures colliding once again for our casual entertainment. It looks like there wasn't a budget to hire Anne Hathaway for this remake though?

"this side"? Or was that the prequel? How many sides are there, anyway?

I'm so confused.

In this one, tensions are high as the missionaries are wrongfully accused of stealing a roast pig from a neighboring village.

When the owners of the roast pig see the missionaries apparently suffering from indigestion, they assume that it's because they ate the roast pig in a hurry in order to hide the evidence.

The missionaries are shocked to be accused, but are burping and belching uncontrollably due to consuming massive quantities of potato chips and soda pop after completing a 24-hour fast.

They are brought to the village to answer for their alleged crimes and things look bleak for the missionaries until Elder Groberg's companion involuntarily unleashes a supernaturally forceful fart that blows a tarp off a wagon owned by one of the villagers, revealing that the roast pig had been in the wagon the whole time.

The villagers take it as a sign from God, calling it the "divine wind". Two days later they all get baptized and celebrate by eating the roast pig. Unfortunately, they all come down with food poisoning from the spoiled pork. But all survive and are shown in the final scenes laughing and reminiscing about the divine wind and spoiled pork that led to an eternal bond of friendship. In the background, as the movie comes to a close, the hymn "Pull on the Finger of the Lord" plays gently at first and then builds to a very effective and highly emotional crescendo as the credits begin to roll.

Did they cut the explosive diarrhea scene?

It's great in the book.

"This is definitely not poi!"

I don't think that made it into this movie. Probably will be in the Other Side of Heaven 3.

I missed Part 1.

Where will it be shown? On BYU campuses, BYU TV? Temple visiting centers?

It screams Mormon. No matter how they try to whitewash that name off their image, it is seared forever more(mon).

It's on Amazon Prime Video, but it's not free. $1.99 to watch.

Not on Netflix or Hulu.
