My brother said our mormon neighbors down the street are acting strange lately. We used to be in the same ward. He said the family's mom follows him when he's driving. He drove around the block and she followed him. He said this happened several times, so I know she's not house-sitting. She'll follow him, then drive back to her house. Creepy. Messed up. No boundaries. No idea why she's doing this! Awhile ago, my brother said their family forgot about us and are living their own lives. I wasn't convinced and her behavior reveals it. Mormons proving they think they are entitled to being nosy!

Why not go to the door and ask?

Either your brother gets interesting news or she backs off.

Agree LW. I have found the direct approach to be best in things like this.

Wrong approach. Crazy neighbors are, well, crazy. They may be armed. Confronting them on their property could be fatal. Neighbor could shoot the guy and tell police that he threatened her (again) and tried to force his way in. Best bet- go visit a police supervisor, tell him/her what's up, and have them send a car at a designated time that he'll leave and she'll follow. A simple car stop and warning will probably be necessary to wake her up.

This is a neighbor they know. Not dangerous, I'd think.

Stop the car if it’s safe to do so ,or pull over and see if she stops too or goes around him. Let her know that he knows she’s behind him.

Also, I would start to document. If the police do need to be called in they will want specifics. If there are two people in the car when this happens the passenger can take time stamped pics. That would turn it into fact instead of he said she said.

Put an obvious dash cam in the rear window.

And get out of the car counting a big roll of singles.

I wish you included more details in you experience in your post. That's really interesting, because I've experienced a similar occurrence as well. Ever since I turned 18 I've been having social issues and I'm convinced it has to do with this Mormon polygamist family that lives near me. I see their kids everywhere, e.g. once one of the sons followed my mom and I to the mall just to holler at me "I'm going to burn your house down." One of the other sons disemboweled his sister's "boyfriend" who was a nut job and it freaked me out. Another son is living down the hall from me and my partner and they've been kicking and punching our door and leaving trash at our door!

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON; I think they were trying to bring me into their "family" because there's so many of them... I'm scared.

Check with your other neighbors and see if the family is bothering anyone else. They sound like your basic disfunctional family.

You know, because one has told you that he is going to burn your house down, you may be able to get a restraining order from the police.

Do you live in an apartment or a house? Is one son threatening to burn down an apartment building where his brother, you, and your partner live?

A woman following brother in car while driving sounds like an obsessive compulsive behavior. Is she bored in her marriage? Might she have a secret crush on your brother? Whatever the reason, she's seriously out of bounds. Possibly dangerous too, because she's already showing imbalanced behavior.

Keep the boundaries drawn. As others suggest, chronicle. I wouldn't confront her just yet. Wait and see if it continues. I don't believe you can get a TRO unless she becomes threatening or aggressive. Check with your county courthouse to make sure.

Who's nosy?

Drive by the nearest police precinct and go around the block. If crazy pants is still following, park in the lot.
