I LOL when I read the following in reference to Bush Sr.

"President Ezra Taft Benson and President Thomas S. Monson attended Bush's inauguration in 1989 and the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, then known as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, sang."

That's an awkwardly written sentence.

I missed the Andrea Bocelli concert, and was reading the Deseret News review a while ago:

"Mentioning his recording of “The Lord’s Prayer” nearly 10 years ago with The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square — then the Mormon Tabernacle Choir — Bocelli told the appreciative crowd, “It’s the first time that I sing here in Salt Lake City. And I will never forget your affection. Thank you for this.”

The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square--then the Mormon Tabernacle Choir gets a whole awkward sentence, and Bocelli gets only one word for his name. Nelson and the Mormons want to get as much attention as possible. The Mormon cult is truly a "mouse that roars."

I overheard a Mormon calling her cult by the name: "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, formerly known as the Mormon Church," and I laughed out loud, because with all that babbling, she still had to use the word "Mormon", in order for people to know what church she was talking about. LOL!

This current Prophet and Seer is horrible at branding.

I prophesize this forced and contrived renaming effort is going to go down like "New Coke", which, if it slows people getting converted into the cult is a Good Thing.

"The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square" is toooooo long.

I'll either stick with MoTabs or start calling them the Square Tabs.

Just can't change the name of something. It won't work.
Sure funny watching people try to do it! :-)

Line from the movie Stripes.
Drill sargeant's response to that was, "Lighten-up, Francis!"

The old names will be restored and he will have been speaking as a man all the time.

"... he will have been speaking as a man-bear-pig at the time."

"Tabernacle choir at temple square" people can't really be saying that now... It's just awkward. MoTab just flows so much easier.

My local PBS station has missed the memo

"Join Tony Award-winning actress Sutton Foster and "Downton Abbey" actor Hugh Bonneville will star as guest musical artist and narrator for this year's "Christmas with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir." They join the world-renowned Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Orchestra at Temple Square, Bells on Temple Square handbell choir, Gabriel Trumpet Ensemble, dancers and actors in an elaborate, Victorian-themed program that celebrates the Christmas season through music, dance, storytelling and pageantry."
