What is happening with Daymon? I downloaded his 2010 Ph.D. dissertation years ago--very interesting, and I bought The Book of Mammon and read it several years ago as well.

I just looked on Amazon and oh my.
https://www.amazon.com/Daymon-Mickel-Smith/e/B003O597YS

He's been busy writing on BoM themes.

"After receiving a PhD from Penn (Anthropology) in 2007, the author has taught at various universities, and writes books. Lots of books."

Looking at his Amazon page, well, he seems to have gone off the deep end.

I found his dissertation helpful and still refer it it from time to time.

I find he teaches an anthropology class at Utah Valley University--at least a 2017 student rating.

Apparently he's divorced.

Never met him or heard him speak or seen a photo of him. A search of his name on this site turned up negative.

What say ye, fellow exmos?

I have his book of mammon as well in my pile of books I've not got to reading yet. But he did some interesting research about culture clashes between black BYU football players who aren't mormons and getting along with white BYU culture. And how issues forced mormondom to give the priesthood to all.

But all it really has is a title...

Adjunct instructor is a part-time position and teaches up to three courses per semester depending on need of the department. It is low paid and not prestigious.
